A sort of parody to David Bowie- Ground Control to Major Tom

So, recently I've developed a certain... 'addiction'.. to the "Space Oddity" songs. I decided to write my own sorta-sequal to David Bowie's "Space Oddity." I call it a sort of parody because I use the same tune and beat, because I have neither the imagination nor the means to record my own tune, but it isn't a comedy parody or making fun of it. (This is to the 5:08 minute version of the song, if you want to sing along. (original lyrics can be found: Here)

So without further adieu:
Quote:
Captain Cohn to Major Tom

Captain Cohn to Major Tom
Captain Cohn to Major Tom
Ground Control been searching for so very long

Captain Cohn to Major Tom
We've been searching for so long.
It's my mission, I’ll bring freedom back to you

This is Captain Cohn to Major Tom
World’s searched for you so long
And the people want to know "Where have you been?"
Please respond I need to know if you are there

This is Major Tom to Captain Cohn
Just open up your eyes
And you think so small look up and think and may-
Maybe you just might change all of your old ways

Now I
Redefine what I did understand
Saw what we have done
You’re all bound by glue
Freedom’ll never come to you

Now we've traveled many million miles
I sometimes still feel ill
That I know you do not know what way to go
Follow your heart and you’ll learn the way, also
Captain Cohn to Ground Control
I leave you now, there's nothing wrong
Don't look for us Control
Forever now, we’re gone.
We've found the Truth, my Tom
Can you see…

…the places where we've all been
Long we slept in womb
It’s then that I knew
Those who’ll follow Tom are few…

So what do you think? Suggestions on content/tune/beat/lyrics? Tell me I suck? Tell me I rule?

I'd be interested to see what people's interpretations of my song are as well.

For some reason I thought this was a beatles song...

The lyrics you wrote are fantastic, you should take out some of the major relationships the the real song and come up with a completely different tune.
"...Those living for death will die by their own hand, Life's no ordeal if you come to terms, Reject the system dictating the norms..."
