Note most of the graphics glitches are due to VB.NET sucking in combination with a custom theme. The colors look better in Windows XP themed mode.

I'm gonna start working on this again, mainly ironing out the bugs for a final release of my Patch Commander replacement.

Lots of extra stuff to play with on the interface with 4 toolbars...

Or go for the minimalist look.

You can do other views too! (And as you can see, all 5 of the Dark Forces games are now supported!)

Customize launch parameters...

You can run the game with a one click toolbar button, a two click menu option, or with this dialog which gives you a bit more control.

These textboxes turn red if they can't find the game files. <3. Most of the time these will be filled in for you automatically from registry values (except for Dark Forces of course, or if you don't have one or more of the games).

Nice about dialog which includes stolen GFX from someplace I've forgotten. <3

The updater, which can download updates (in the form of installers) and then launch them. And if you take the time to go to the url in the pic you'll find it rather boring. :p

You can give it wallpaper, yay!

I only have a couple more things to do with this and then I'll be able to release it, after creating an installer and such.

I have some older pics here http://images.mzzt.net/ujs/ in other Windows themes and a couple unthemed I think.

I'm also getting the help docs together here.

Comments?

Whatdya mean, Brad? Most of the look is from the custom theme I'm using. You can check some of the slightly older pics I linked to for unthemed pics. In some of them not much has changed between then and now.

Or maybe you'd want something like this:

OMG! Excited! :D

Will it read zips?

I can't find anything in the .NET framework to read ZIPs. I tried. :(

There might be a third party library or something I can use. I can use normal C++ DLLs like zlib or whatever. I'd just have to figure out how to use it. :p

But for now it doesn't read ZIPs. Sorry. :(

Wow, you had my old Lighthouse is there in your example shot ! :D

Impressive altogether! I had no idea there were programs like this. Too bad my HD is so small that I cannot really keep at all that many mods at hand, otherwise this might be a good program to use. For Freelancer I used a mod manager, and it was pretty impressive.

Anyway, I don't think zip support should be such a hard one to find. The Freelancer mod manager had it, and I suspect many others do, so some unpacking library should be available somewhere. You wouldn't have to pack, only unpack, isn't it so, and that, I imagine, should make it easier (to find a library).

Good luck! It looks absolutely fine!

EDIT: I don't actually know anything about this ".net framework" you are talking about. But shouldn't you be able to use any documented DLL you can find?

When you first started talking about this "UberJedi" program, I didn't think there would be much point to it, since the community already has Patch Commander. But now that you've added support for all 5 games and lots of other neat features, I'd have to say, "Way to Go!" and "I'm really looking forward to this!" :D

Ooh! I see APT! :)

It certainly looks great. Also nice that it supports all the games.

I plan to put a bunch of programs into it, thus why it is called a Suite. Currently it only has Game Modder (AKA Patch Enforcer). I'm think, with the DirectX SDK, I should be able to implement a Zone-clone into it. That's a long ways off tho.

It's going to have a control scheme editor for JK, a Player Editor for JK (with more features than JK like renaming your profile and MP characters, etc).

The .NET Framework 1.1 is available for download on Microsoft's site. It's a hefty 22MB download, unfortunately. You can get it from Windows Update under Optional Downloads. If it doesn't appear, then you already have it installed. More programs are appearing that use .NET anyways, so you'll eventually have to get it anyways (Longhorn will ship with version 3.0 of it, supposedly).

I plan to use this: http://nsis.sourceforge.net/ for my installer system. <3 NullSoft.

I actually used a third-party DLL to do the visual styles. .NET, by default, has half-hearted XP visual style support.

I'm also using another DLL for the task bar on the right.

Actually it's not really, except it brings all your DF/JK games together in one launch platform. I wouldn't consider this anything like steam.
