showcased this site about a year back now, haven't had access for nearly 6 months recently while my university union messed about with the server and have finally got it back and made some tweaks...

opinions wanted, mostly on the general feel of the site and to make sure it displays correctly in as wide a broswer field as poss, checked with IE and firefox.

At some point I will make it W3C legit but at the moment I'm just catching up filling in the content...

I like it, but there are three things that bother me when I look at it.

1. The blue news seperator. The right side where the date and author reside, needs to be a color other than white. Making that part of it white is confusing to the eye, when trying to read the news posts.

2. The logo image. It's actually a nice image, but it looks odd when you have it on the sight, twice like that. You may want to consider making the two images into one banner image that spreads across the entire page. That would make sense, because the menu does that already.

3. The smilies. I'm no elitist when it comes to smilies. I enjoy them as well. However, when they're large enough to make the text look like it is double-spaced, you have a problem. The space between the text should ALWAYS be consistent. I'd recommend scaling the smilies down.

Like I said initially, I like it. It's clean and pleasing to the eye. Keep up the good work, but at least consider the things that I mentioned above. I think your site would really benefit from it.

Shrink the smilies, remove the second iteration of the logo above the news (possibly replace with the actual name of the site, so people know what the acronym is, since few people actually look at the browser title bar.)

2 and 3 yep, argeed, had thought about the smilies and the logo before but never quite done it....

as for 1) thats how I intended it to be, personally I like it and don't think its confusing to the eye but hey thats my personal opinion....

anything else anybody think needs a little work?? how'd it look in your respective browsers..??
