Weighing in at material from 9 books, 37 clerical domains, 769 spells, and 211 feats, 102 core and prestige classes!

Download here.

This consolidates material from the Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, Deities & Demigods, Manual of the Planes, and 5 supplementals (all third edition - none of that 3.5 malarky!)

[ Edit ] It has been brought to my attention that this may not work on systems with OS's predating XP [ /Edit ]

3.5 is crap. You played into the concept of "We want more money"

REALLY nice job Wolfy, but the only thing I don't like are that the GUIs for character classes are horribly big, and have no major scroll bar to see the lower area.

I'm serious though, this is brilliantly done work. You deserve secks for it. Please, fill us in on how things went? Did you literally type from the books? That'd be a LOT of typing, pal.

I suggest you expand it to allow a player to print off a character sheet with those presteige classes. There's no character sheet printer for them, and writing them out every time is... a hassle. Not to mention, this allows changes to be made, and printed quickly. You could ALSO include some monster adventurer races. Mind Flayer comes to mind, right away.

Expansion files should be a possibility, where someone can patch their program to include a new race, monster, or whatever. As well, characters should be able to be saved as a type of file, as well.

Maybe even... items?

Think on it, and if you need any data-typing assistance, or cross-referencing of monster players, I'd be perfectly willing to assist.

I'm afraid that the GUI for character classes is as small as I can get it without cutting off important information. I tried to make it as small as possible (intending for a 1024x768 desktop), but I ran over by 32 pixels.

Why not put the pointsperlevel on a sliding, smaller window?

Put in a dice roller and it's an all-in-one package.

I've always thought a program like this, with net support so that each player has his stats there up in a window, and a chat dialog for the actual gaming (as well as one for OOC chat) would be awesome. I don't know any people in my area who play, and being able to play completely via internet would be awesome.

Made a mockup of my dream. This would be the client side, the DM guide would have more stuff ... pretty much the program wolfy just made.

TOTAL PROPS on this, though, must have taken forever.

Hardly, 3.5 fixes a lot of things and adds some things. Only an ignorant little wanker would say that it's a waste of money.

I have to agree with Tofu, 3.5 is still good. New doesn't necessarily mean crap....

3.5 takes a lot of material from third edition supplements and places it in the core books (prestige class of Dragon Disciple, for example, is from Tome & Blood) and creates a few new feats, all of which can easily be translated to third edition, as well as the new spells.

I admit that I do have the 3.5 Monster Manual, but that's because it has pictures for every single monster listed, something that's sorely lacking in 3E - but they made the Blinkhound look like a ferocious beast in 3.5E instead of the cute puppy in 3E .

I don't like 3.5E because, as kIRBY said, it's Wizard's attempt to make more money. Rather than actually putting forth the effort of releasing a whole new system, they consolidated a bunch of pre-existing information, added a few new spells and feats, and said, "Hey, look, everyone! It's new material!"

White Wolf is also trying to pull the same gag with their new World of Darkness crap.

I kind of like v3.5 but I do have to agree there isn't much of a difference. I think they should bring the old v3 DM's guide...now that was nice. You had most everything (basic stuff) right there. But then they broke that all up into different books

That wouldn't be extremely useful unless it had a map incorporated into the program. Otherwise you might as well just use IRC with a good dice script (like the one I made).
There is a program like that, actually. "OpenRPG" I think.
I'm just a little boy.
