New York City band websites are really competitve.. some just suck... but some are really quite wonderful.

So when I decided I was sick of using 1&1s templates, I decided to redesign our website. Check it out:

I really need some suggestions... I just finished it in the past... oh, 6 hours? I started it from absolute scratch. Its pretty minimal, but thats what i'm going for.

What do ya'll think? Oh, and any ideas on what you think of the band's music are accepted too.. :)

Content in popups is a horrible idea. Never use them, ever. Especially since there are plenty of people that use aggressive popup blockers and they'll never see it.

looks nice, but i reccomend resizing your images to the size you have them shrunk to with html code. especially since you dont have them as thumbnails to larger images, average computer users aren't going to know you can click drag them to your address bar.

either way, make them smaller, and if you want to, thumbnail them to the larger ones. its just silly to wait several seconds to see a tiny picture load like that, thats all :)

I adjusted the pictures page. Now the pictures are smaller but clicking them opens the fullsize picture up. woo

Any more complaints about content being in popups? I understand why it would be a problem, but I have a little footnote which says pop ups need to be enabled... does it still not matter?

Get rid of the popups. They're aggarvating as hell to anyone.

Yea. Its really not a good idea to use popups as a web layout. Also the structure is sketchy and inconsistent. I do like the pictures page though. I also like the color/theme whatever. I suggest adding a little flash into the website if you can. If you cant then do some cool little javascript things. For things like bands its cool to add neat little javascript/flash things.

Use actual thumbnails, not the resized originals that still take ages to load on 56k.

I will. The current thing is just temporary.
