Here are a couple wallpapers I made recently. They're primarily for my own use. I'm pretty happy with the first one, but not as much with the second one. Comments, contracts, constructive criticism, cookies welcomed.
Both were made with photoshop, and the symbol in the second picture is actually a wireframe from Wings3D. These are scaled down a bit as it is so 56kers be warned. If they seem too dark, check your monitor. :)

i think what is scruing up the 2 one is that the symbol is black, whitch makes it flat.

imagine that the picture was on an x, y, and z frame. (x-----x)

and
z commin in and out of your moniter.

the blue haze is on X and Y
the bobbert title is comming out of the moniter on z
and you need to make the symble go back on the z azis somehow. i suggest changing the color to a dark purple or green (with a gradent to black). the value(light or dark) of the purple or green needs to be darker than the value of the blue.

and if you want to spice up the background of the first one, make an almost non-esistant layer of the symble in silver/gray, repeting all over.

If the top one was reflecting on the ground, there would be some sort of perspective applied to the reflection. If you're using photoshop, just use the skew option to make it look like it's actually reflecting on the floor.

I knew something was wrong! Thanks.

Elana, That makes sense. I'll see what I can do for an extra dimension on the logo.

Another thing to try on the reflection... which may or may not look good...

Make a rectangular selection across the bottom half or quarter of it, feather it a few pixels, delete the selected part of the reflection.

Maybe... It's something I'd have to see and play around with before making a firm decision. I'm not very good a judging how things like that will turn out.

If you're using photoshop, apply a layer mask to make the reflection fade out as well.

Why'd you want to have your own name on your desktop?

Bobbert is sort of a clan, so it represents a lot of my good friends. It is like wearing a shirt with your team name on it.
