Very early screen shot of the gate room. As you recall Abydos was in the first stargate movie and in several episodes counting where anubis blew it up. So After 15 minutes I was able to complete the main room Im aiming to get it to look like the one in the referance shot.

Looks liek its off to a good start, I liked the abadoys chamber from the movie better then the one used on Sg1 tho..

I realize it's a WIP, but:
  • Notice at the top of the reference picture that the ceiling starts sloping inward. Yours lacks this.
  • The light that comes in through those windows and creates the beams on the floor are a must.
  • And looking again it looks like the whole room is too narrow.

It was my impression that there were hallways in those crevices between the beams... but that's me.

Yes, the room is too thin in accordance to the slopes on the far wall. They should remain the same, and the beams moved out further. Otherwise, a fantastic start. (I assumed the slope on the beams will be fixed.)

You're correct. Those aren't actually beams in the shot, but pillars. I can remember this from where the servants of Ra sneak up and kill the soldiers.

Okay Good news and bad news. Bad news is I dont know how to rotate models verticly so I cant get the other cheveron lights on wades gate. Good news is I saved a whole load of money on my car insurance by switching to geico and fixed the slope in the beams.

Actually that was another room with the pillers at the main room room with the exit to the exterior of the pyrimid.

Made a few updates sniperwolf said about the pillers also from when apothises seperant gaurds attacked there where pillers to hide behind. and made it darker and closed the skylight.

hey tahts pretty nice! can u add some colour to it, looking a bit grey so far can u make it more sandy on the walls?

Btw can do a decent gate acctivation splash, my one for jk was crappy cos I cant do much with it, since this is ja or somethingg more advanced you can do something cool.

Okay a few updates since I cant get the other cheveron lights on I removed the top on temporary. And the main request I got was to make it sandy so I cnaged the texturing.

looks much better.

The bottom two chevrons usualy are not used, so they are often buried in the base that holds the gate or at least hidden since they serve a purpose we yet don't know.

8 and 9 are used when you want to travel to another galaxy or something, right?

that looks heaps good! and yea there are meant to be kinda halway or walkways between the pillers there, stargate looks good! were are u planning for it to take u in the game?

Updates.

I finally got the exterior ingame but the lighting still sucks so Id thought Id do a raident shot. Once I get the lighting done I will add the sand dunes.

looks pretty good so far, but i thought the entrance was a little bit further away fromt he bas of the pyramid with a dune or two in between them...

Infact I have been using referance shots by using these two Im able to measure how far the enternce is away from the pyrimids plus once its lit Im going to either use easygen or make the dunes by hand.

the wip image makes it look like the entrance is flush with the side of the pyramid...I hope its not, because it shouldn't be, look at the shadows. Unfortunately Google isn't helping me back my argument up with a solid picture, I guess you'll have to rely on observational science...

The other stuff looks good btw.

Aye. The they used to 8th to get to dial Atlantis.

the 8th was used to dial atlantis and othala (asguard homeworld), but the 9th currently has not been used in the show or movie, so we don't know waht it does, and until the show says the 9th chevron adds another distance calculation, it currently does nothing.

uhh, that IS for JA. the foru pics posted by forgone_light are from a diffrent Stargate map for JK maybe by someone else.

Actually, the ninth chevron turns the Stargate into a giant snow-cone machine. It makes a wicked swirly.
