Well I have somewhat of an announcement. I've decided to work towards releasing a "teaser" for (one of) my Star Trek level series, so that even though I may not actually release a full-blown level, you guys will still be able to play some of it.

It will take a while even to release this, since I'm redoing a few (well, ok...ALL) of the Enterprise's interiors.

Here are some screenshots from the teaser level:

Ladies and gentlemen, the refitted Enterprise, powered-down I might add (without it's exterior lighting system activated), in drydock awaiting final crew arrivals:

And a bonus of the *NEW* officer's lounge, as it was meant to be seen in ST: The Motion Picture (budget cuts called for a simpler, more boing room). This area is not yet completed and is in progress. Outside the window you see the warp nacelles of the Enterprise as well as a particle system starfield moving by (props for me. It's quite amazing).

[Note] Those blue-gray bars on the top and bottom of the screen are to hide the booms, microphones, and stage lighting ;)

Niiiice!

Any chance of seeing NCC-1701-E in future?

I love Sovereign Class.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

Yes! You're still working on it! After all these years, when I drop back by the Showcase, you're still doing it! :D

Shame, Gandalf! You prefer that new trash to the most beautiful Enterprise ever?

Hey BSR, do you have the book "The Art of Star Trek"? I'm guessing that you do, but if not, let me know; I have it, and it has some amazing pics of ships, concept art, prop closeups, etc. I'd be glad to send you some pics if you need any reference material. And of course I'd be glad to help beta test. ;)

Keep it up!

I prefer the Defiant myself, I love that ship. But they're all damned awesome.

Blujay:

Yes, I've had "The Art of Star Trek" since I was in sixth grade. I remember bringing it to school and getting made fun of. Ha ha. Thanks for your willing to help.

I also have "Mr. Scott's Guide to the (Refitted) Enterprise" (The best resource I have for this project, since it has detailed scaled blueprints of many of the areas of the ship, as well as equipment), "The Star Trek Technical Manual", "Star Trek Encyclopedia", "Star Trek Chronology", "The Star Trek Sketchbook", "The Star Trek Atlas", various issues of Star Trek magazine with technical briefings. I use all of these extensively for my research on building these areas. Plus I have all the movies and two out of three of the original series on DVD so I have a near unlimited amount of video to select reference screenshots from. I've built up this collection starting before I ever knew about level editing, and I am really glad, and a little less embarrassed, that I can finally put all that money spent to good use.

I'm not a Star Trek fan and I think I just wet myself.
I can't think of anything to put here right now.

It needs to be asked; what game is that?

No, it doesn't. We all know it's JK.

Is it? I assumed it was for Elite Force.

I really don't like Star Trek, but that does look fantastic. Shame the SotD is still down.

It is MotS. The engine I stubbornly slave over.

An interesting note, it would make a lot more sense if I did use Elite Force to build this project, since there a lot of Star Trek material already included in that game. I tried to edit with Elite Force once, but did not like Radiant. JED, to me, is a better editor because it yeilds more accurate geometric results. I could be wrong, however, seeing that I believe I was attempting to use a very early version of Radiant.

JediGandalf: No, you won't see the Enterprise-E....from me, at least. If you want to, go buy Elite Force II. Much of the game takes place on the Enterprise E. It's difficult to get motivated to build something that has already been built in a previous game, especially when trying to build it in an inferior gaming engine.

Don't worry, I'm sure we're all perfectly content with this. ;) Keep it up, you're doing a fantastic job!!

Hey, that's a good idea. And it's certainly possible in the JK engine. That would be fun to cog. Let me know if you'd like help cogging it, BSR (I don't know if you do cog or not).

(Then again, will this ever actually be released? I'll never forget your amazing levels of the -A bridge and corridors. But have you ever released those? Don't take this the wrong way, I don't mean it in a bad way...but even if they were unfinished, there are many, many of us who would love to have even the unfinished levels to look at and play around in. It's a shame to spend so much time on such great work and then never release it for others to enjoy. :( )
