Great progress! It'll be a fine model. But give it a good skin in the end, not one of those rusty late soviet skins (like in JediGandalf's picture).

HAHAHAHA...no offense, but you are so wrong, it's funny.

The F-15 was made by the U.S. in response to the MiG-25 Foxbat, the one that flies up to 80,000 feet and has humongous engines. The Su-27 and Su-33 are the best of both worlds: extreme maneuverability and high speed. The F-15 would never hold up to a Su-27 or Su-33 in a dogfight, and unlike the MiG-29 or MiG-25 or MiG-31, the Su-27 and Su-33 can carry as many A-A missles as the F-15. Anyway, except maybe for the F-22, the Su-27 and Su-33 are easily the most maneuverable fighters in the world...maybe even moreso than the F-22.

Soviet fighters are often better in theory, and they say they are more robust. But that could just be more apparent because the runwars are probably all in shabble...Most Russian fighters would be blasted out of the sky 120 miles away by an F-14. Granted manuverability is a big part in avoiding missles, but I question how well they actually work in the real world. The US is also known to have considerably superior electronics and such last time I checked.

I would say that Russia is "ahead" as far as overall technology goes in the world of air superiority. The F-22 wasn't the biggest success ever, I mean it's great, but it's more expensive than god and still doesn't offer huge advantages over its predecessors. We'll see what happens with Lockheed's JSF project, which looks a hell of a lot like an F-22, as its based off it. Sometimes I think the Boeing JSF entry was technologically superior however, as it didn't require three small variants for the USAF, Navy and Marines. Which was the whole point of the JSF project. Anyways, my information is outdated, people feel free to correct me.

The F-22 Raptor (Lightning II) is one f***ing sweet figther due to is electronics and what makes it so good is its stealth. Thats why its more expensive than god, but its worth every dollar I think. The JSF is based upon the F-22, and is sweet with its VTOL and all, but I like the F-22 better b/c it looks cooler (the engines), and the JSF does have variations for each branch as well. Russian/Soveit fighters look good on paper, but all the US fighters looked better than they performed on paper. Real world has limitations and fluxuations that don't allow fighters to perform to their boasted performances. The major thing is that the Soviet fighers lack stealth and I believe they don't have the AWACS abilities that the US has. Last 2 things, first, manueverability just by itself is a very vague term. And finally, I'm just further the thread jacking so don't mind me and what I say cept the following. Move this debate to the proper forum and....
