The Oribital Office Complex, to be used in a cutscene of the teaser I hope to release. This model will also be used as various starbases throughout my Star Trek level series.

The model was built entirely in JED. Textures were made in PSP. Used Force Remap to assist in texture mapping.

This took way too long just for a cutscene model. Ah well. Maybe I'll make a level take place inside one of these.

Note the Enterprise in drydock in the distance of Shot 2.

The skybox is bluntly obvious, and detracts from the overall effect. Try more of a skyorb, and make it much bigger.

give some shader effects to the lights. it would make the model pop out a bit more.

... That's JK Asp. No shaders. :) Best he could do is add small dynamic lights, or include the glow into the textures.

Eh? That's not possible with 3d-accel. He'd have to cleave a surface where he wants it bright, and set the extra surface light up a ways to have it purdy. He could even then use SetSurfaceLight(surface, flex_light, flex_delay); and get it real nice. :o

i'm not stupid. he can fake transparency and add coronas, even an overlay to the 3do... we have tutorials here on how to do it... he'd just have to do the little transparency trick with the mats to avoid the HOM problem.

Oh, that sparkily shiney effect painted on, not the brightness (glow) of pixels on the texture. :p
