Yes, I agree. Good start. If I may make a suggestion, try to incorporate that reddish color from the flowers up top into the webpage elsewhere. The lavendar and reddish pink will slightly clash unless you do maybe your titles or links in that color too.

Nice stuff!

I'm still very new to GIMP, so I'm having a hard time understanding some of ti. I've got some pretty nice results so far though, but judging by your work, I assume it can get much better!

Gimp is very powerfull. You can do a lot with it.

Just one thing... The pink text in the background is actually a little disturbing. Or atleast I think so. But everything else is good.
