Hey all, I haven't posted here in a few days, been doing lots of homework, but I have also been toying with some gaphics. I've had GIMP for almost a week now, and I've messed around with it on and off for anywhere form a few minutes to a couple of hours. I haven't read any tuorials yet (probably should), I've mainly just been experimenting, but I love this program!

Here are some of my works, soem of which I have spent a great deal of time on. Most are quite silly, but perhaps people could critique them, or tell me quicker/more stylish ways of achieving similar or better effects.

Nota Bene: These are posted in the order I made them, the first being the top, and the last being my most recent work.










Most of these are absurd, and I was making them for the picture thread over in the Discussion Forum. The latest two are a prototype for my website logo. It's meant ot read "Daedalus Designs", but the D looks like an A. I put the most effort into those. THe screenie is from one of my levels. I also used MS Word 2000, Ms Paint, And a freeware image resizer program to make those. It took me forever, and needs some work. Teach me O wise ones.

The point of this thread is also to see other's works (but only if they were made entirely or at least partially in GIMP) and to learn from them. Post away you suggestions and pcs guys!

This was the template for a tatoo on my back. It says my true name, in runes of my own design (meaning noone except me can read them). Yeah, I'm going to bed now.
Oh, it was completely done in the GIMP2, btw.

out of curiosity, is the one that looks like an L representing a C? no real reason... just that the runes look familier.

Actually, if I were to guess, I'd say that's an 'A'.

Daft_Vader: Are you using 2.2 or 2.0? 2.2 is a great improvment over 2.0... so be sure you're using that one!

Made all the purple graphics stuff and the buttons and all in GIMP.
