Since I worked practically all day getting the cog for these to work, I may as well showcase 'em. I'm adding skyboxes to the levels. Should make them fit in more with my high res content pack (whenever that gets done) Anyway, screens!

..you can ignore the rendering error on the gun, it needs a cog

Dang, those skies are nice!
But now the rest of the level looks like crap. ;)

u should add the cog for sun galre as well that make it pretty cool, ask SM Sith Lord

Except lense flare is impossible through a human beings eye.

These are great and all, but don't at all fit. I want my JK skies back, personally. Maybe a different sky for each place, one matching the feel and theme of the level, perhaps?

You should also take out all lighting and relight outdoor archi with the lighter, that way we'd at least get some sexy shadows and such...

He said a sun glare, not a lense flare. By sun glare I assume he just means a whiteout effect.

Neat stuff.

How much of the co-op aspect of this mod works? I would play JK online just for that. :)

You could but a lens flare effect on when in 3rd person mode only, perhaps?

I like the skies, I can't stand the 2d parralax scrolling or whatever of the old skies. I need a horizon line :o

Echoman: Well, it all works... more or less. Since the enemies need to be spawned in multiplayer, there are some minor scripted behaviors that arent there. I made some tweaks, such as keys and wrenches respawn so everyone can grab them. Since the levels are so long, there is a spawn system in place so you dont have to go as far to catch up if you die. And you can see the other players on the map. I'm working on disabling friendly fire, and possibly a spy cam, like in doom2 coop.

No, don't disable friendly fire! Make it an option, but DON'T just disable it. It ruins all the fun of "accidentially" hitting your companions...

Idea good, but they don't fit with the rest of the level as they are now

Bryar:

Your model looked good, but it ain't looking so great ingame.

Misc:

What would be kind of cool is if you changed the feel of the levels a bit, not changing any architecture, but add atmosphere. Maybe each Baron's Hed level should take place more towards night time to fit better with the Palace Escape sky. How practical is a rain effect these days?

Thats my tought.

But before I start, I have some other matters to finish... I was modeling for a morrowind mod, and was supposed to post my models in january, wich was delayed then to, cause of a trojan attack!

But stay tuned, Ill post something pretty soon...

don't use the existing skies as ideas though, think more carefully about what's going on.

Kyle's Home -> Outside the Palace = Daytime
Fight with Yun: Unknown
Palace Escape: Nighttime

Consider that the fight with Yun takes a couple of minutes at most.

It should fade into nighttime for every level on Sulon.

Awesome work! I love when people revamp original JK stuff.

And rain would indeed kick *** and add a whole new atmosphere to the Sulon levels.

if your gonna try what this guy is suggesting, have a look at what Whelly has done here with Phoenix Suburban City. Except instead of having the sky cycle through day and night, just have it go from day(dusk) to night.

Damn those are some really nice skies. In my opinion it is better to have the skies put the levels to shame than have them both suck so I think you should leave them in the JK Cooperative.
