Bryce made X-Wing

Hi!
I've made an X-Wing using Bryce. The front might look a little odd. This X-Wing is dedicated to a friend called Hawk, who is Finnish (splains the white & blue), and he needs no help from an R2 so he replaces that hole with a turret, and there is enough space for 2 more people in the luggadge compartment. I tried to combine it with a Cadillac, but it never happened.

Well, there are a great many things wrong with it:

A. Materials. Make your own, or find some better ones.

B. The engines in the back are completely wrong.

C. R2 was used to calculate hyperspace jumps. Without R2, the X-Wing would have to rely on other ships broadcasting a hyperspace jump, or using 1 of the 2 jumps the battle computer could store by itself. (Which was generally reserved for emergencies, so they would only go to large well-known systems generally, such as Coruscant or Corellia.)

D. The front doesn't look a little odd, it looks REALLY odd. Nose cap is totally wrong, nose itself is too thin, and isn't shaped right.

E. The cockpit windshield is way too big, and is missing about 3 sections of windows. (It wasn't just a plain triangle)

F. The rear ship (Where R2 sits) is too thick. This might be making the front nose look too thin, when it really isn't. But the rear really is too thick.

Tell me I'm not the only one impressed that I'm at least looking at something that RESEMBLES an X-Wing.

That isn't easy in Bryce. Or it might be that I just completely suck a booleans.

Bryce tends to be total garbage in all fields, so yes, it's pretty impressive, especially if he's a beginner.

I wouldn't call it total garbage. Depends upon what your needs are and what you intend to do. But are the far better and superior programs available? Of course.

It isn't bad considering it's a fan-fic X-Wing. It's his own model and creation, and it obviously resembles the X-Wing, unless you're blind or trying to be over-critical. I like it, and other than how narrow you made it twoards the front it's cool in my opinion :)

I can't recall anything Bryce can do that a couple free programs can't do about a thousand times better. But that's not the discussion however...

Good thing about Bryce is the easy texture use (I find it better than 3DS) and generates its own reflection maps rather than going and searching from a lib. I kinda wish there was some combination of the best from 3DS and Bryce.

The problem is, the reflection maps in Bryce are made for environments, not models. That's why the textures (materials) look like crap on that X-Wing. The bump mapping and such is ruining it, making it look like someone chiseled pieces out of the thing.
