If only I had some screenshots more epic than these to capture the true excitement of the next step in so legendary a TC. You thought RoX was dead. I did too. Until suddenly, out of the mists, there emerged absolutely all the files whose disappearance had prevented me from working further. It was like a deus machina. Anyway, I finally got AI synced over multiplayer after taking some notes from Shred's code (<3), and I found the results to be pretty awesome, and I hope you agree:

Tahben re-acquaints himself with old Belport.

An orcish General shows him the business end of an ugrosh. (If only Cinder had cast!)

A meeting of the Belport chapter of the Tahben Lookalikes Society.

I told him it was bad news.

I'm planning on making a new level for tonight with a hopefully working class system, so stay tuned for updates, especially in #jkhub.

The general feel of the level and characters was a very welcome change to the ordinary JK and MotS stuff. (I was the third player in the beta-testing last night.)

I am sure there will be many ideas to come for this fantasy game type for MotS.

See ya' in #jkhub with ideas and for testing.

:)

I always pronounced it "dot dot dot" when speaking outloud to friends, though I guess you could just whisper "ellipses" outloud and it'd mean basically the same thing.

I implemented a class system. There are now the following classes to chose from:

- Mage: Wizard staff wielding magic user
- Knight: Sword swatting ubertank
- Brute: Battleaxe swinging atom bomb
- Scout: Bow and dagger speedster

I've gotta hand it to #jkhub, you guys ROCK. That was the best beta testing session EVER.

Our intrepid party sallies forth...

...only for Diego to betray our Mage! See that battle axe I'm holding, though? Hell Raiser was avenged shortly thereafter.

When I approached this Orcish camp, ZeqMacaw was raving about spiders, but I suddenly realized that they were th least of our worries as a huge boulder from an avalanche rolled off a cliff.

Here's me scoping out the Orcish camp.

And here's a part we didn't get to: where you must LOOT a castle, and deal with an Orcish army in doing so.

All in all, not much LOOTing was actually done, but once I work out some more of these bugs, I'm sure it will get underway.

I find it funny how you do all of this really sweet work and yet you havent bothered to change the backpack powerup. Otherwise I need to re-install MOTS!

May I ask, how on earth did this "mod" just suddenly rise from the ashes and rematerialize out of nowhere, right before your eyes? How the heck did it take you this long to rediscover it, and where was it hiding?

Thumbs up, either way. If you release this, I will continue to adore your sacred name. Great work, I love RPGs when Jk's involved. ;)

An avalanche devastates the Orcish camp! (too bad I killed everyone already)

FROM NIGHT TO DAY:

Here's a shot of the Heavenly Light spell in action.

Here's me having too much fun with the new Transmute spell. It basically polymorphs enemies, players, things into other things.

How can you attack me... if you only have branches instead of hands? MUAHAHA

I cast the transmute spell on a variety of orcs and items, so they're all different things. The orc that became the belltower was so big that he got stuck in the cliffs, and was thus no longer a threat. I killed the orc that became a bed.

I see you learned nothing about colored lighting while playing MotS SP.

Please explain? I've just begun re-doing lighting for these levels: they're several years old. :\

The dragon is still around, but I can't get him to function correctly ingame. I'm working on it.

I mean your lighting is far too saturated in color. The MotS designers went crazy once they learned they had colored lighting at their disposal...other than that, looking great as usual.

ah ha, I'll keep that in mind. You're right, the purple does seem a little garish.

Here's a little more subtle lighting, but I need to fill the area a little better. Outdoor night lighting is tough to get right.

Im glad it's for mots. Mots > JK, (playeraction!) but people edit JK since almost no one has mots!
This is retarded, and I mean drooling at the mouth
2005-04-03, 9:46 PM #35
Pft, I have had MotS since the day it came out and JK > MotS. Availability has nothing to do with it; the advantages MotS offers are a joke. Playeraction rocks but MotS is the dark side of JK editing (well, the dark side just lighter than JK's version of "hacking").

QM
2005-04-03, 10:13 PM #36
Plus MotS has that damn annoying model thing in MP, where if your model changes, it'll revert back to the one you chose for your MPC. :(

Other than that though, MotS offers way more than JK. Unfortunatly, half the cog verbs aren't even documented. :(
