Because you'd never see me touching a hair on this crappy anime's head, if it weren't for him.

This gun looks rather cool, but in all seriousness, I have no idea how it would really work. If you see the hammer in my weapon, it looks very odd, as I had no reference for the hammer, and it is required to reach to the lowest bullet, not the top. Currently, this is a WIP, as tomorrow I'll get out my revolver diagrams and decide how this fictional cross between an M49 Devil and M49 Satan's chamber would be.

Model Name: trigun4.ms3d
Polygons: 2228 (As of current)
Build Time: ~10 Hours
Game: None Planned

I've been attempting to model this for about a year, or so now. SAJN asked for it a while back, I tried it, failed miserably, and have been since. Today, for some reason, I decided to start it up... 4 times. I think overall, I've gone through 5 versions of the following titles for this model: Vash, Biggun, Revolver, Devil, Satan. That's 25 'starts' before I came to the current 4 versions of 'trigun.' That's how hard this gun is to model. Mostly, I owe all those versions to the handle. By far, the handle is the most annoying part of this model. I think I got it as close as it's getting, as of now.

Questions, Comments, Flames and Fanboys of Trigun come to burn me at the stake for hating your beloved show?

That gun has to be ridiculously muzzle heavy.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

The gun seems... flatter than I thought it was. But that's just intuition, and as we all know, anime series like Trigun hardly follow that ;)

Here's to seeing how the barrel shapes up.

:D :D :D I remember when I tried to model it... It didn't look so good... That's awsome kirby! One thing I remember when I modeled it, the bottom of the barrel is more rounded, if i remember correctly... (I accidentaly lost all of my Triguns :( :()

Well, I know a great deal about revolvers in particular, so that really isn't the issue. I don't know a darn thing about lower bullet-barrels.

By the way, Vegie, your attempt is fantastic. How many polygons is it? If it's under 500, or can have things (Like the release) removed, and be under 500, then I can use it for an external model and slap it into JK.

Very well... But I've heard of an Anime movie in which there is a weapon with the same power as the BFG-9000 (Doom3).

Don't ask me about the name, I've just heard roumers...:em321:

Erm... opinions differ? It's an entertainment form like any other? I'm sure that there are Japanese out there who say the very same about american sitcoms.. or cartoons.

But in any case, looks good. =D

Here you go kirby, I'm very greatfull that this model won't be just for my practice! Alter it however you like, but give me some credit :D There is a slight problem in the one surface, shouldn't be hard to fix up in MS3D. (In JED it would have been very hard!)
So I present to you Vash the Stampede's low poly gun, modeled in JED...

Yah... but from what I've seen, in most Anime the characters can all shoot BFG-9000 plasma blasts from their hands.

Anyways, it's not even that I dislike stuff like that; for some reason I just can't stand the look of the actual animation. I guess it's just a matter of different tastes.

Naw, there's as much genres in anime as there are in movies, there's just as much anime out there with normal people as the main cast.

IGNORANCE IS BLISS!

Kirby--awesome model. But it's awesomeness is almost cancelled out by your hatred of trigun.

Looks like the handle could stand to be quite a bit fatter, judging by the first ref pic.

Well, the reference seems to be off. But things I've noticed...

Hammer is too low. The top part of it is supposed to just about match up with the top of the gun (just a bit shorter...).
The half-sphere is about the size of the cylinder. The top of the handle should be further down (should align just about with the top of the circle section where the gun breeches) The main frame should be moved down, closer to that circlular part. The half-sphere should be closer to the gun. The part of the safety that goes under the half-sphere is roughly flat. Oh, and for the naysayer's who think the gun can't work, it's based on a real gun, the Mateba revolver (despite being called a Colt .45 long :| ), which also has a semi-auto version. (Mateba being a bottom barrel aligned, double-action revolver). The breeching action of the gun was most likely added to aid Vash, by overcoming one of the Mateba's flaws. (To reload the thing, the cylinder is rotated out and over the top of the frame... it might have been fixed for the current line of Matebas) I don't know too much about the actual layout of them, so I don't know if the pin is actually aligned with the bottom, or if something in the sphere transfers the energy. I can give a ref for the hammer, btw. Anyways, that's about it for now. See how it looks once you get a cylinder in.

Seriously Kirb, don't waste your time trying to figure this one out. It's a complete sci-fi impossibilty. What's really gunna make you scratch your head is that fact that somewhere in the muzzle of this gun is a crystal-looking-thinger. When it's activated, the gun transmutates with Vash's arm and becomes his third and most powerful "gun". This gun is so powerful, it has leveled two cities, and even put a hole in the planet's moon. How is this possible? Because Vash is a plant, that's how. :D :D

I'm sure all of this info only serves to make your hatred for Trigun to swell... but it's that very sci-fi cheese that I can't get enough of. I'm addicted to cheese, what can I say? Some people don't like cheese... they just rather have their burgers plain and mundane--wait, what are we talking about again? :D

But seriously... What's SAJN using this for? A TC with Vash as the main playable character would be kinda lame, since Vash doesn't wanna kill anyone (well there was that one time, how cool was that episode?! Hells yea!)

NOW, a TC that followed the back-story behind Wolfwood, now THAT would be worth doing. Who wouldn't wanna walk around pickin' off people left and right with that cross of his?? In fact, as I type this, I can't help but formulate a possible storyline for the TC.... I even have an idea for making all the characters cell-shaded... but bah... who besides me would be interested in that?? A cell-shaded anime Trigun TC for JK.... rubbish. :D

I'd throw together models, but I wouldn't be interested at all.

And yeah, trigun sucks. A moon? WTF.

SAJN isn't doing anything with it, either. He just wanted to see it done, so I did it for him. Not to mention, it's a fun model either way.

By the way, sniperwolf, I can see where you're comming from, and made a lot of sacrifices with the gun due to a lack of perfect side-references of a more accurate gun. Honestly, I'm not going to argue discrepancies of a real-steal version of the gun and it's anime counterpart. The most I'll bother editing is the hammer, as I think the version you mention looks a whole lot better in that respect. Otherwise, the handle is ugly, the semi-orb part is really funky, and the entire alignmency of the gun is off. I MAY add the sight to the end, but it'd be pretty difficult at this stage of the model; I'd have to redo a lot.
