An M4 with underslug KAC Masterkey shotgun. 1491 triangles total, taken from my M16 as base, total time was about 1 hour.

To keep up with modern fighter jets, a modern rifle/carbine/LMG, take your pick, the (X)M-8. 649 triangles with 1.2 hours of work.

I should have left it to kirby to say it, but I hate the handle you put on the M4. Otherwise nice.

And that seems to have killed the thread. *sigh* c'mon I want more that just 'ick I don't like it,' I want reasons and ideas on how you think it could be improved, even if I sometimes don't follow, I still appricate it and I experiment as well.

Both are very nice models. Great work, please continue improving because at the rate you've improved since you did those early pistols and such, you will be incredible quite soon :).

The first is lacking some key features of the M4. The shotgun cock also looks nothing like what you've got there. It's far more shaped and is more of an oval, not a circle. The handle, as always, is all too flat.

The second model is VERY flat, but I'm unfamiliar with the gun, so maybe that's ok. The handle is hidiously carved out of rock, rather than a smooth grip someone would need when using a firearm of it's demenor. The attempt at a "3D" feel with the edges make the gun look worse overall.

There's my criticism that I wasn't going to post, but to me it seems like you were asking for it. So here it is :-D.

That really doesn't say anything, though. You've still made a heck of a lot of progress in a short time. Just keep working on it and you'll be able to contend with some of the biguns, like Ruthervein or Hellcat. I strive for their perfection always, and tend to rethink my methods if one of them suggests otherwise.

The stock on the XM-8 looks really really weird. Are you sure that's how it looks? :S

The M4 lacks a forward assist.

They both look nice, but we're forever seeng untextured gun models posted here. Does anything ever come of them?
