Cool! But I have a question: if the ziggurat was built by the ancients, wouldn't they have put the stargate in it, or at least closer to it? It seems kind of convenient that it just happens to be up on a hill right above the waterline.

Also, the lighting needs work, but I'm assuming that the current lighting is just temporary.

The stargate doesnt fit in the zigguraut I already tried that sow I gave it a nice water front area. So theres some space when you come blasting through the gate in a puddle jumper

Yes it's a new vehicle the daAan and manquesa have made.

The shadows cast on the water look...off.

And, damn, this would be a great place for bump-mapping. The temple looks spot-on for accuracy, but, unfortunately, the walls all look really, really flat. :(

Also, the texturing on the ship is too uniform - it almost looks like a giant teal floating blob with a window.

Love the background, and everything else looks great.

In that last picture, my brain fails to recognize any earthly possession that could be that big blue blob. What is it?

Oi, I can't believe that no one can recognize the puddle jumper!

Even with the uniformity of the textures I can still recognize it!

Oh well, the ziggurat looks very nice. Will we see the insides soon?

i reconized it as the puddle jumper, it just needs much better textures abnd details to make it look more... life like and less.... blobby

The problem is the lack of shadowing on it (besides a bland texture) Even if there were details on it, without shadows the human eye can't see the detail.

If you look closely at the front end below the window you can see some detail, but the shadow stops and thus the detail just blurs.

What you could try is to make a darker material for the detail (the indents) Actually, now that I think about it, I think the whole thing should be a bit darker than that. The indentations might need to go in a little more so that they block more light. (example attached)

Finally, try scaling the texture smaller so that it doesn't look as grainy. example pic (warning it's big)http://scifi.about.com/library/graphics/sam14.jpg

Uh, I just reread your post and since you didn't make the jumper could you pass this along to daAan and manquesa for me?

One problem with the "ruins". 1) not too ruined 2) the standing water would eat away at the stone over the years and dissolve the whole thing.

Maybe the ancients use a special coating to prevent tooth decay. I mean wall decay, ya, wall decay.

It's permissable for science fiction to be backed by science fact, you know. :p
