OK, for four months now I've been reading up on Game Developement, and team management. I have also a trump card up my sleeve that will be announced soon-- for my indie game developement team... Black Water Games. Alright, enough gibbering... this morning, to celebrate my personal milestone, I opened up Fireworks MX, and designed a new logo for BWG's Tolkien based project... here it is:

Lol. Wish I could make the center of the Flares more transparent, or less "hard".

logos != progress

Seriously...take the flares out, and add some vines to that stone/dirt whatever that is. And then add some cracks into it, and I bet it will look great.

Also, try making it fade around the edges instead of becoming brighter.

I'll be bluntly honest: that's not even really a logo, it's more like a header. A logo is a small, simple picture...just writing out of the title of your company isn't a logo. I mean, all it is a font and then some very out of place multi-colour glow things that seem randomly placed. Seems like 2 seconds of work to me and it's very ugly to look at.

To be honest, you could the same in Photoshop, even better.
Why use Fireworks? It's supposed to be a Web Designing Tool, but you can get the same effects in Photoshop...can you?

fireworks can do better than that, so can you!
I'd leave the logo/banner design up to an artist and work on one of the many things you seem to have gotten yourself into already
