INTERIOR DECORATING 101 o.O

I need some suggestions on how to adorn and furnish this house for LoG. It's a rather affluent suburban abode with 4 bed, 3 bath that doubles as a spaceship. The foyer is the main part I'm having trouble with... there's just so much EMPTY WALLSPACE... and I'm an architect, not a designer, plus I'm not a woman, so I'm at a big loss as to what to put here.

The colors are staying as they are. I'm thinking maybe some small pictures of the people who live there, maybe a little table with a floral arrangement? A grandfather clock? I'm definitely adding a chandelier. I'd appreciate any specifics as to what to put where.

Maybe a couple corner plants, small table with a floral arrangement... maybe some lights hanging from the ceiling...

Yes, it seems like some nice stained wood tables with flowers and such would fit in quite nicely in that area.

Maybe a coat and hat rack (the standup kind).

Yes, the walls could definitely have some pictures and paintings and maybe some wood carvings on the walls.

Also, there needs to be a wall or railing on the exposed upper hallway and on the stairs.

Ok, so far I've gotten:

- Coat/hat stand

- Impressionist artwork festooned everywhere

- Swords (give me a break, only guys live here)

- Tapestries

- End tables

- Tables and chairs

- Chests

- Dark wood stuff, or inlaid wood

- Antique cachivaches

- Floral arrangements

Now to make all those prefabs... :[

A grungy old rotting wood floor does not belong in a nice house.

The walls don't look too nice come to think of it, but I've always been afraid of more solid-color-esque paintjobs in JK, as they tend not to accentuate corners and angles. I like the wooden floor, but I'll see if I have any alternative textures.

Maybe put a few lamps on the walls, or some floor stand ones. Everything else I was going to suggest has already been said.
May the mass times acceleration be with you.

Well if guys live here you need TV maybe stereo. Possibly some curtians or blinds for windows. And I agree with everything else stated. All that should fill it up.

Use wallpaper=esque textures instead then. (ie: patterned)
