After Effects would be the primo steamo to do the sabers, but if you exported you file as a filmstrip (File>Export>Movie - Flmstrip file from the dropdown) you'll have the whole sequence, frame by frame, to draw in the sabers in Photoshop.
Now, (since I haven't seen the movie), you could just pick specific chunks to rotoscope where there are sabers, but if there is a long fight, it would be extreme to scope a saber for like, 10 minutes.
UPDATE: Now, having seen the movie, I think it should be noted that you need to use a tripod. And, while the lens flares showed dedication, the saber sequence was, in fact, unecessary. Also, why didn't you add music?
