Hey all,

I've been posting pictures of my updated emperor skin in AKPiggott's Enter the Dark Lord thread, but I really want that thread to be focused on his awesome level and not my updated skin that will be featured IN the level. So I made a new thread

Basically if you didn't know, This model is about 3 years old. It was Toonces' first model and I was honored to be one of the original skinners for that project, along with Arco, Grafox, and Psynex. but after going back to my old skins, I realized that they looked like sh**. So I have been updating the skin slowly but surely. The main focus I have been working on is the facial texture. The clothes were skinned by Arco, and I think they are great and don't need updating. So heres some screens for ya.

I am currently planning on releasing the model with updated skins, and sounds. As of right now it will be released for JO, and hopefully with the help of Mr. Piggott, it will be released for JA as well. I still need to create team versions of the skin. Your feedback is appreciated.

his face gives me gas, but it seems pretty good to me.

The skin seems to be of great quality, but I don't like the expression on his face. He somehow looks like a sad old man, instead of the evil thing he really is...

I actually really like the face as is.

Yeah, that's his usual expression in the films, too. It's just the way his face is built.

As it is, its totally amazing. I'm blown by the accuracy of his face.

If I want to nitpick, I'd make his mouth just a bit wider and only slightly curved upwards into that sadistic smirk he wore all the time.

It could probably be done with shaders

yeah i'd say give him a 25 or 50% glow shader on the eyes (no actual glowey stuff, just lit... yeah(duh)) but yeah wow that looks awesome.

i definately want the emperor in my prison level now... im gonna build a part of it just so i can fit him into it... haha this is awesome.

I still don't like the hood not covering his eyes.

He had the exact same hood over the eyes deal in the original trilogy. Only til he was in the chair could you ever see his face.

I really like the one with the hood down.

The one where you can see his whole face just seems odd...His forehead seems quite large, and it almost looks like he has a butt for his forehead (note the large crack running through the middle) I'd say if you fixed that up a bit it would be perfect

Palpatine is the big butt-head of the Star Wars Universe.

I think it looks great! Not just some lame reborn clone, but an actual model of the Emperor that actually looks like the guy in the movie!

Started on the team skins, but I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what to do with them. If anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it

Heres what I have started with the red version, I'm going for the look palpatine had in his office in RotS. any suggestions would be great.

I would just change the whole robe red or blue, because that doesn't look too distinctive.

You've got the "see-through hood" thing going on again, except in the lower part. It's in the lower right of the hood (Palpatine's left) in the pictures.

I think it looks great. I'm just wondering if it would work better with a deeper or more saturated shade of red, just to distinguish the colour more. To be honest, I don't know if it would work better or not. Just an idea.

Well, here's a general idea of what I mean. Just more red, basically. Now that I see it, I'm not really sure if it's better. I guess the colours/shades you like depend on your mood. Yeah, I don't know.

Wow, in the renders of just the head, the face looks more like a painting than a model. Great work.

If you imagine the rest of the face on that bottom left picture (the tan one) it could easily be Picard from Star Trek.*

jEDIkIRBY: I just watched all of the Palpatine scenes in RotJ and I didn't see a single moment where his hood was covering his eyes. Even in the hologram scene in ESB it wasn't.

The funny thing is is that you people describe it like sidious and palpatine are differant people! So here's a fix! It's sidious AFTER the fight with mace.
