The head texture so far anyway. I finally got back to this model, and got it unwrapped and the texture started. I didn't plan on the texture taking so long though, these guys have crazy color and texture variation on their skin.

That is REALLY good. Complements your model beautifully (which was, if I might add, already beautiful to start with). When I saw this thread title and decided to take a peak, I was instantly reminded of the thread concerning your Gran model posted ages back, and thus was pleased to see you had decided to continue the said venture. Now just give us a screeny with him holding a thermal detonater designed by jEDIkIRBY! :D

It all looks really great! However, the eyes and ear kinda seem out of place since they have lower poly-counts than the rest of the model. Great job, though.

Nice, but the honeycomb grid on the texture looks like he's made out of chicken wire and latex. If its supposed to be there, maybe vary the grid a bit more.

You rock as usual.

There is something about the skin tone that bothers me though, maybe it's a bit too light?

If that Gran was made in true JK fashion, it would be muscular instead of scrawny :)

But as for the model and textures, great!

Basically done texturing, I'm going to bake in shadows though.

This one is the player model, the enemy model will have his proportions adjusted to be buff :D

To me, the hands seem to be a bit blown out of proportion...I know they're large, but those look like brown balloons.

Have you ever compared the gran model hands in JK to the Kyle ones?! Keep in mind that this is supposed to be an alien, not just a wobbly-eyed rubber suit.

Yeah, the gran hands indeed are twice the size of kyle's, but so are the arms and legs. I still think this gran looks like he has kyle's arms and legs, and a gran's hands and head.

That would make this gran a scrawny guy in a gran costume wearing brown paper lunch grocery bags on his hands :p

To me, you should stay true to JK. This means that you could probably keep the hands as is, but put some meat on them bones!

does anyone read? this is the one that you can play as... maybe as part of shreds co-op or something, he says he's doing a more buffed up one for enemies.

Regardless, I still think he should make the player model more buff. I mean, look at the attachment -- he looks like kyle with a different head and hands, and I personally am not too fond of it.

I don't mean to sound like a complete wanker, but did you just rip this model straight from JO/JA and export it to 3DO?

[edit: Just checked out JA's model and you most certainly didn't. Take that as a compliment, as opposed to an overly-suspicious remark. Good work.]

No, shred uses 3DSMax, if I'm not mistaken. That or Lightwave. 3DSMax sounds right, though. I remember getting some .3ds' from him.

nope, not from JO/JA. This mod would go a whole lot faster if I could do that :p

Here are a couple enemy shots ingame. I have to do the brown outfit now, heh.

I absolutely love the in-game shots, although they are a bit cramped. I don't suppose you could show a wider angle shot of a Gran in passive stance could you? That'd be sweet.
