These are a few pics of guns for a mod that a friend and I are making for JO. So far we have all the weapons done and ingame these are just a few shots to see what people would think.

Let me know what you think, I know most people arent Gundam fans but over all model/skinning can be rated so let me hear from ya.

Nice models, I particularly DEARLY LOVE the last gun model in the first pic (right beneath the blue tinted one) It totally blows me away, it screams power and death :o

Thats the buster shotgun, replaces the flack cannon.

What series are these out of? I recognize the Freedom Beam Rifle from Seed, and the Zaku Tomahok from Seed: Destiny, but not many of the others.

The weapons span from Gundam 0079, 0080, 0083, Z and ZZ, Chars counter attack, and SEED as for the Heat Hawk thats from basicly any of the above. Here is the Heat Hawk for those to lazy to go find it on the site =) There is also an ON version with the blade heated up.

the "blue" one isnt really blue thats just the pickup holo making it look like it, here is the skin.

The cartoony feel won't look right until you have some nice gundam models and cell-shaded battlefields. Speaking of which; need any?

Personally, i'd love to see something out of Destiny (Impulse's beam rifle, Zaku particle cannon, etc)

We have 5-6 lvls planned. If anyone has played Fed vs Zeon they will be around that size 4-8 people prolly and they will be scaled to where you will feel gundam size. All that you see here was done in 2 weeks, with 2 people. And Cartoony was the point =). I doubt we will bother with cell shading this is a simple mod to have fun with, if we can get all the player models done there will be a 15-20 player selection on mobile suits. We need more modelers for that but meh it takes the time that it takes. BTW this is the first editing on JO either of us have done, I custom hand made all the textures and he did all the modeling and putting in game.

And the Buster Rifle of Wing 0 Custom was on the idea list but only 1000 verts per weapon and the size would be problomatic so we skipped it, sorry we know how much people like it but atleast we thought about it =)

Any ideas/suggestions are welcomed as well as any resources or questions.

If not part of the actual pack, I request permission to release levels specifically intended to be played with your mod, and advertise them as such. I'd want to use the textures from your levels too, probably. Quick, while I am still drunk enough to not be an ***.

Also, you shouldn't lay out your skins like a simple drawing of the gun. You are wasting a lot of space, and all the surfaces perpendicular to the side view are a solid color. Look at how the weapon skins in JO are done.

I'm surprised that you only have early units from Destiny on there (and even then, your still missing the Chaos, Gaia and Abyss). What about Strike Freedom, Infinant Justice, Legend and Destiny?

The mod isnt intended to be professional grade as i said its for fun. But here is a 1st person shot so that you can see the weapons look just fine =) Atleast i think so

See those stripes on the top of the gun? That's the line on the texture being stretched all the way across. You simply projected the texture from the side; in Milkshape? Texturing this way is fine, but you should take the top face and project another bit of the texture onto it from above; etc.

It was the first weapon replaced, new blades, trails, and new hilt. Just not much of a point in posting screens since a lightsaber/beam saber is basicly the same. You can see it here though.

Ill be texturing all of the stuff unless people request other wise. Email me with the ones youd like to work on so i know who might be doing what. Since this is for JO not alot of point in multiple saber hilts. Not sure what we will do with the heat hawk, make suggestions were open to them.

Tell me what to make. There are an insane amount of gundam blueprints online, so I'd prefer you give me a list of 3 gundams to get done, and I'll go from there.

how about some simple ones for now.
Zaku II red/green

Gouf normal/custom

thats really 4 models cause the gouf normal and custom are slightly diffrent but not by much.

Right now we only have Nu gundam started so if those dont suit ya just take your pick of the litter and jump all over it.

for any ref pics i suggest google's image search.

before i leave for the day trip i thought id post something for you guys to check out. This is the hud ive made for the mod, might get changed later but you will see its broken down form and what it looks like ingame in 1 shot, as well as the 1st person rocket launcher, hope you enjoy it, take a look.

BTW sorry i missed the post about the Destiny suits. They were all on the list at one time but its just about impossible for us to make all the models of the suits that we want to. As i stated that is the IDEA list, nothing is completely finalized. BTW I watch Destiny the day it comes out <--was a Japanese english translator for anime subbing groups. Sorry we cant do all of them we would really like to but its just not possible.

I asume then, that the player will BE the MS rather than pilot it (it'd still be interesting to see a more realistic HUD, such as the tri-screen design that i've seen for most MS models and Gundams)

Its JO, thats its hud. Not like I can code a new one. I know what you mean id rather have one of a MS with damage areas but aside from coding it i donno how else i could get it to display that.

If anyone does know how id be happy to learn from them and make a much much better hud for the mod, this is just a quick one i made to familurize myself with the hud and how it worked.

If we could edit the first person camera it would be cool to have a tri screen view or a 360 degree cockpit view but again thats prolly beyond JO's engine.

Cool ideas though. The HL2 gundam mod might do something like that.

Im going to pose a question to you all, would you prefer the player models that should have shields to have them, not have them, or there be a version with/without them in the mod.

Since we've now started up the player modeling, this would be a good thing to have anwsered.
