So on another forum I go to someone did a few stencil shirts... so I figured id take a shot at it. The images are taken from the Bandits of the Acoustic revolution website / liner notes.
so this is the initial concept. Front of the shirt is the lower right image, back of the shirt is the upper left.

This is the image I used to make the guitar stencil

The image used for the bird stencil. Havent done the letters yet

Closeup of the stencils. Not complete at this point

Painting the back of the shirt.

This is the back of the shirt when I was finished. I think it came out nicely, even though its not as big as the one in the initial idea.

I havent done the bird on the front yet. I dont know if I will either.

Turned out nice, I actually like it better smaller like that.
Seeing how I think this is a nice idea, I have to ask:
What kind of paint did you use, and will that stay on properly if you put it in a washing machine?

Its some sort of fabric stenciling paint. It has instructions on how to "seal" it onto the shirt when it dries.

Do you cut out stencils alot? If so, then that looks poopy, but if it's your first time then that isn't bad at all.
Think while it's still legal.

No, that was the first one ive done. I wasnt completely concerned with it coming out perfectly because i like when stencils are kinda rough. But yea, for a first it came out nice.

anyway, here is the site that I kinda followed as a guideline for this.

THEY LOVED IT
I showed a few guys involved with BOTAR at the streetlight show my shirt and they thought it was really cool.

One of the guys was like "whoa, where the hell did you get that?" and the singer said "Hey man thats really cool, is it screen printed?"

Really nice shirt. I was thinking about making a DI thread myself, but it would be a bit different, and may be a while yet.

It's certainly nice to see unique showcases from time to time that go against the established norm of level/model 80% of the time. Especially when the said showcase took some time and effort. :)
