I present the docking port complex of the Enterprise.

Not quite done with it.

Smooth and clean, very professional!

I agree with Emon, looks great! The smooth texture makes it look like 3D model of a building. Great Work so far!

I recall from previous showcases of your work that you were getting all of the lighting effects you needed by shading textures. As Emon said, this looks very profesional and near spotless, absolutetly unbelievable work. But in this case, why do you need Dynamic Lighting?

Daft_Vader: I use a combination of lighting effects: vertice, dynamic, and textural. Dynamic lighting gives a very good overall atmosphere to the area. Vertice and textural allow more detailed lighting.

But take for instance the corridor in shot # 2. It gets gradually darker the farther you go back, thanks to dynamic lighting. To achieve this with only applying lighting to the actual textures would take a different set of textures, each gradating darker, for each of the corridor segments. That would be a waste of disk space. And vertice lighting would be too complicated to achieve this effect. (after 6 years of editing JK, I'm still not that great at vertice lighting.

Vertice lighting does have its advantages though, as shown in the last screenshot.

looks great. Have you tried the lighter plugin yet? It generates effects similar to lightmapping in brush engine games.

That's very impressive then. I suppose a good editor takes full advantage of everything an engine has to offer, and adjusts it to suit his own purposes. Good job, once more, I hope to see tihs released some day! :)

The lighter is good and all, but this level is just too clean to screw it up using that. It will probably generate way too many surfaces and errors, not to mention ruin already near perfect lighting. I think BSR has already come very close to perfection. No need to try and add to what is already beautiful.

Don't get me wrong, the lighter is good, but I don't think it suits this architecture. Plus it would completely ignore many of BSR's 3DOs.

I am no star trek fan, by any means, but this is a great looking level so far!

I Have been brainwashed to like Star Wars and Star Trek since
birth. When I saw this project on the hub I thought it would be
awesome. It looks great. I am really excited to see this project
completed! Awesome work!

Oh yeah... this area for all I know could be all archi, IDK, but BSR said his bridge was all 3dos (except the floor), so the lighter plugin is useless there.

Fantastic work as always :)
May the mass times acceleration be with you.
