So... yeah...
I'm working up a DnD (1st ed) campaign to torture my friends with, set at sea. I came up with a few wonky ships for them to encounter, if they make the right (or wrong) decisions...
The Kharan Air Navy consists of a number of airships of various build and type. The most common are these, commonly refered to as "Aero-Schooners", which is entirely unfair considering they haven't nearly as many sails. You may notice there are no rudders. There's no need for rudders in the air.
Another view. You may notice that for a ship in a navy, it's curiously sans weaponry. This is, as the topic suggests, merely a scout ship, used for high-atmosphere recon missions and occasionally as a shuttle for a person of importance to get to one of the bigger air boats. You may also notice the seeming lack of lift in the design. Lift is generated by the pushing of the wings. The superstructure is made of an extremely lightweight metal (no name is needed, this is fantasy after all), and filled with lighter-than-air gasses, so the structure of the ship is in fact exactly like that of a bird.
Yet another view. Airships are launched either from high-atmosphere Airdocks (held up by blimps, essentially) where the largest ships are built (and they had better be built properly, or else it's a short mission with a sudden, crushing, wet end) or, in the case of lighter ships like this scout, from extremely fast rivers with waterfalls overlooking the sea. They are moored on large rail systems for ease of launch, as any attempt at mooring a ship in these rivers would lead to either the ship being ripped free, ripped apart, of the whole dock being torn from the port. You may also note that there are no sails. I am lazy.
And now for a special gift package...
The Moldy Crow! I completely forgot about this sucker until I was rendering the scout ship above. I put the turret on at that time, so I am hoping to get more done in the near future!
Another view. I had to remake the windows after I posted last time.
-I met a man today. He'd never spawned vehicles in JA before. I wept.
