10 letter F word

I use Front-Page and I don't care. That isn't what I'm showcasing:

My Website

It's basically a compound of my projects, portfolio, and whatever else I end up putting online.

I need opinions about color, and visual aspects. It's meant to be viewed on a larger resolution, so don't complain if things look shoddy on your 800x600 screen res.

By the way, I'm picking up notepad and HTML later this summer. Until then, deal with it.

[After searching myself, I realize that I've got to fix all my meta-tags to display something other than 'home' at the top. As well, I've got to ditch the frontpage tags.]

Okay, looks good. I like minimalistic type website designs.

I suggest having white/pale/light borders around the boxes, and maybe a little logo or something at the top to give it an identity.

The colours seem fine to me. Only problem I see is that it's not 800x600 :(

Kirby, I have one request, in the links can you add Mega Tokyo (www.megatokyo.com)

Other than that, looks okay, obviously you have a lot of work to do yet so lots of luck.

Times New Roman = evil.

I try to have a consistant font style. Usually I just go with one font the whole page. I would change the TNR to another...sans serif font. (Arial, Trebuchet MS, Verdana, etc)
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

If you want to go with a minimalistic design ( Go for it!), all I would suggest is try to change the font, and maybe make it a little more "slick" and put together, it seems kind of messy right now.

I've always loved the minimalistic design on the Slackware site, especially the thick borders.

There isn't any Times in there, but if you don't have the font that I used for the site, that'd make sense. I'm going to make the top bar text into images, and then go with Arial Bold for the rest of the site.

And how does it look on your screens? I know you low res kids are getting ugly, but I couldn't seem to convince FrontPage to make the tables fill out at 100%

I'm going to try a redesign today and try to get the tables functioning so all res' can view the site decently.

OK, updated! I fixed a table around the whole thing wich allowed me to fill 100% of the space with tables. Now it SHOULD look decent on any screen res. I also switched all of the fonts to Arial Bold, and made the rest into images. I'll be doing a logo header, and some PNG header-links once I get the time, those are currently just placeholders.

What do you think!?

Yay! No bottom scroll bar! I like it. The blue, black and white look good together :)

Your navbar doesn't have a consistant baseline (that is, the text isn't lined up). And the JPG quality on them sucks... use GIF for those.

Remember the part where I said "Placeholders?" I know that they don't line up.

The images you made for the links look crappy and too compressed. If you must use images for the links (which is pointless because they're just text and you should simply pick a more common font), use gif. It will let you set a transparency and will be a small file because there's only 2 colors in the image. Also, I think arial bold is a bad choice for a font. It's too... big and thick.

Verdana for the win.

I've already said the images are temporary.

The links need to be consistent (underlined or not? Make up your mind!) and preferably a different color than the normal text.

Um... it is consistant. All body text that's linkable is underlined. The exception to this is the links section which... you know, makes sense.

God man, your screen res is pretty small for being a nerd...

I'll fix the links once I feel like updating again

1280x1024 is small? You should really check out some of the features of Firefox sometime. Changing text size on the fly is one of them. (A feature to keep in mind while designing your site).

Ah, that's why it looked small. I knew of that, already, though.
