That is really good, more polies wouldn't hurt either. Remember to curl the fingers. Unless you're going to animate them in 3rd person, it looks natural if they're bent.

BTW It's 1032 triangles.. But I had to keep in mind there might be 10+ civilians on screen at times.

That is very well done! Just make a few reduced poly LoD models, and you'll be fine for framerate.

This man speaks dire truth. Without LoDs, this model could kill framerate.

level of detail. like.. a model will have different numbers of polygons and it switches further down the farther away you are from it, so you cant tell the difference, but less polys are being drawn and performance is better.

oh, and.. is there any difference between performance like.. if there's a dozen 1000 polygon models on screen in Q3 compared to the same dozen on screen in Jk? you'd think it wouldnt matter because most of us have such good PCs now.. and the textures on the polys are lower quality than the one's on the Q3 versions, and the lighting isnt as complex to be rendered... wouldnt it be fine even without LODs?
