Some drawing I made
2005-08-01, 12:54 PM #1
I've been busy for a while with drawing. Some drawings of my pretty sucked, and some are very cool, I am going to show you one where I am actually pretty proud of. It's a creature I made after looking through some old drawings i made. It is photoshopped a bit.

Maybe the picture doesn't really allign well. This is because I used A3 paper and don't have any knowledge of photoshop and its features ;) .

Here it is:

Comments, burning arrows, storming knights?

apart from needing more shading/lighting, its very good, especially the attention to detail on the clothing
Code:
if(getThingFlags(source) & 0x8){
  do her}
elseif(getThingFlags(source) & 0x4){
  do other babe}
else{
  do a dude}

The face (eyes nose mouth) are too low on the head. There is almost no chin but a very tall forehead.

Anyway, its still good work.

[edit]or maybe it's the large eyes.. i can't pinpoint it.

It's an alien... not a human.

It needs alot more contrast. Too flat grey.

Yeah, a lot more contrast. It makes the alien look like it is about an inch deep :/

and dont make the background a bright white with photoshop or something. thats just distracting.

I like his cloths and the details on his forehead. The white background is indeed very distracting and you'd probably just should have left it however it was.

As for the shading, the drawing indeed seems a little flat, but I can see that you did use various tones in shade, so I was thinking that the flatness is more because of the scanner you used. I know mine always makes my drawings come out flat, I always have to fiddle with the brightness/contrast sliders in Paintshop Pro. I'd suggest you to do the same, it can bring back the depth in your drawing nicely.

Also, Whats up with the weird pattern all over it? Is it from the paper or something? It looks like you added it in PS or something. Doesn't look good tho.

I have to disagree with people here, that looks just fine.. does not need any work at all it looks very fine the way it is

Judging by the nose and disfigurments... Yuzzhan Vong?

I have to say, im not a that good artist. And I still am...how do you say it... afraid to add shadows (tips are welcome :) ). About the white background. I made that becasue I want to start with Corel Painter 9.

The strange pattern on the back of the paper is because I used my aquarel-drawingblock instead of my drawingblock. They look the same :em321:.

Raoul Duke, it was supposed to look as a human figure, not the legs, I have drawn them on a diffrent paper, but the face needs to look a lot like a human, so Z@nardi, I shall work on that.

This female looking head on a body that massive give it a most alien appearance. I think the face looks human enough.
