I have finally finished two relatively simple but fun weapons for my mod.

Here is the hand grenade:

I hope to also give it new hierarchy and stuff for player animations that actually fit the weapons. I may lower down some polys of the polys though.

I downloaded and played it before you posted :p The use of the grenades could use some touchups, like a secondary doing more of a roll instead of a full throw, eh that be my thoughts. Knife is knice. :p My real major complaints is the reloading on the bolt-action and shotgun, since you can't stop reloading until you're done, and that you can't reload the M249 until you're out in the clip. Well, thats me *shrugs* I still like very much.

Theres more to the blood effect now. The violence is slightly cranked up from small bursts when you get shot, to blood splattering on the walls HEHEH

ingame it's less blurry from JPG compression.

I love this hehehe.
The blood appears only if the thing your shooting is close to a wall.

Ummmm the bloodspray would follow the path of the bullet, you know, Sir Issac Newton and the laws of motion. :p it still does look cool, but me, personally, I am more towards realism, not have blood gushing all over the place. *inserts foot into open mouth*

It already works like that except with a little different code. It is modeled after the exit wound blood spatter from HL2.

everything looks very promising. I suggest that you finish one thing at a time tho, or else you can get bogged down easily with the levels

The level is getting there ever so slowly, but I will have more shots soon maybe.

I made the level as free and open as I could. The sky is open above the buildings too, not just a sky-flagged wall.

It's very, very good, but it's not quite up to your unparralelled skills, so I wouldn't start peeing just yet.

Yea.... he's a tad too ill-proprtioned for my liking.... beef him up a bit, and lose the baby booties. Seriously dude, those feet should be at least 33% bigger than the hands.... not smaller.

New player is ingame with new animations. I still need to make the knife stance though, and swimming... :o.

The boots are bigger, they were originally based on kyle's feet.

Very nice model, but in terms of realism he looks a bit "lanky" for a soldier (for lack of a better word) and his uniform is too, well, uniform. :p Add some decals and more variation in color or something. Just solid green and gray doesn't look quite right.

It is still excellent, but these are some suggestions to make it better. Also, could you show us how it looks when lit dynamically? That would look nice I bet.

it does look really nice. what about a back pack and a belt with a bunch of crap on it.... is this guy an officer or some kind of gaurd that doesn't need much?

The model makes me grin and jump and crap like that, but that vest thing makes me curse and spit. It's a horrible contradiction. Really, the vest should be part of the model, not the texture.

Seeing somethng of yours in game finally tells me what it is that is missing: Your textures are all very dull looking, almost pastel. Try sharpening everything.

As well, model more of the texture into the player. Think of what a soldier tends to have on his person. Where would he keep all of the guns you're giving him?

I actutally started work on improving the texture before everyone replied.
I already worked on that the weird seam and the stretchyness a little too, but it is still a bit noticable. I also need to work on the face because it looks dumb to me.

OMG

played the mod last night, this is best gun mod ever. The mp5 is great especially the zoom and laser aim recticle. and the SAW gun with the belt feed, JEEZ, the animations are great, actually ALL reloading animations are top notch.

with experience u will improve the muzzle flashes no doubt, but the sounds are great.

with the current title of your project, "Contemporary Weapons", where does a level fit into it? i'd love to see you finish the level, but if your making it to be more than a weapon mod, try thinking of a different name.

I tried it out, it's pretty cool so far except for a few realism quirks. For one, bullets don't cause people to fly backwards. And what kind of grenades are those? Because frag grenades do not result in a large fireball (despite that it was very well done). It would also be nice to be able to cancel reloading in the middle of the process on bolt action rifles by pressing the fire key. Oh, and the bullets are far too slow. You may already have plans for these issues but I'm pointing them out anyway.
