"We don't have enough water!"
"Water? Where we're going we don't need... water."
Because the other one was unarmed, the Shiva class airship:

A triumph of aeronautic design. The entire rig weighs a net total of 150 pounds.

As you can see, the Destroyers come equiped with the weapons required to kill pretty much everything around them. Heavy quad cannons below are used to perforate sea-level warships, deck-mounted heavy turrets take care of enemy airships and prop-fliers, and the heavy cannons in front can be fitted for explosive rounds, targeting beacons (for rail guns mounted on ocean-going ships below), or even grapplers, used to capture whales or, if enough airships team up, enemy ships (usually carried back to port although occasionally they are just chucked at the enemy navy).

Another view partially showing the sails and rigging. That took forever to figure out, and it still doesn't seem right. Aside from the lack of sails, that is. I don't know. It's a quandry.

Here's the wings. this time around it's the butterfly setup, as you can see. Purty, aren't it? I thought it would be ironic. More so than the song, at least.

-And hey, didja see what I did there with the name? That's so clever. Hah. I am clever. Someone get me an award, I am so clever. Hah. Hah hah. I am so sharp I'm going to cut myself. Hah. Clever boy, hah hah... I'm gonna get shot someday.

This is very sexy.
Think while it's still legal.

And that day is today. :p I just wonder how they fit everything inside of it, I would think there wouldn't be enough place to store the ammo, much less allow people to exist on it. *shrugs*

So an average person could drag that huge ship along?
DO NOT WANT.
2005-08-20, 10:57 AM #5
Wait...so that whole ship weighs less then your average person? Talk about completely unrealistic.
2005-08-20, 12:47 PM #6
Net weight.
Obviously it weighs a lot and has a huge mass, but it contains a lot of lightweight architecture and lighter than air gasses.
And besides, it's for DnD. It's magic.
Besides, it's not really used for anything but blowing up stuff. There are other, more heavily armored ships. I'll finish modeling one and get back to ya.
But hah hah, did anyone get the name thing? Hah. Or the reference in the thread title? Hah hah hah.

-Besides, the 150 doesn't include ammunition, equipment, or crew. 150 is just the structure and all it's weapons. This is why it's generally regarded to be the best type of ship in the Air Navy.

I don't see any pictures.

[Edit: I don't think the .txt trick works on GeoCities anymore.]

[2nd Edit: It only works if you have referrers off.

I would advise you to use the Editor's Corner instead of geo****ies. Or get a real webhost or something.]

I don't use the editors corner because I like more freedom than "You may submit one(1!) .jpg file, no larger than 60 kb, for the duration of 24 hours!" I'm seeing the pics perfectly well. Anyone else?

-What do you mean by referrers?
2005-08-20, 3:00 PM #9
Well you can see the pictures cause they are cached.

Clear your browser cache and reload the page.

Referrers are used for two things:
- When you navigate to a new page via hyperlink, the new page can tell what page you linked from.
- When your browser loads images or other resources when you view a web page, the website that you are getting the images/resources from can tell what page they are being displayed on.

In this case, If you post GeoCities images on a non-geocities website, GeoCities blocks them.

You can see them because you already viewed them directly at the website (to see if they were uploaded correctly, I imagine).

So only you can see the images, and no one else can, unless they have referrers disabled (I imagine most don't).

I think one little 100kb JPG easily beats no images at all.

But I will give you some alternatives to the image corner:

http://imagecorner.sorrowind.net/

Use this to host non-JK editing related images. You can store up to 8 at any one time.

If you are ever working on a JK related project you can host images at: http://jkhub.massassi.net/ Create a project and then you can upload screenshots for it.

I have a friend who hosts an image upload service with no limits. I will see if he minds me linking to it outside of the community he provides it for.

Of course, nothing beats having your own webspace. There are a few free services that don't block images.

It seems as if you were the only one not being able to see the pictures...

Bah, GeoCities must hate me then. :p

But still... don't use GeoCities. They are evil.

I know they're evil. To be honest, I only use them for this website, really. And now we've got an atachment system, so maybe it's time to drop them altogether... food for thought.
And to Thrawn: I know the rules of the EC. I've posted a few pics from there, but I got tired of having to compress into ugliness a few pics in order to not cap out an such, and never be able to post gifs or anythin'. And, to clarify further, I exaggerate a lot.
