the darker grey vertical lines on the back look a bit odd.... and like the chamber where it releases the empty round needs some work... it looks angular in parts. and just some parts on it look a little plain or undeveloped. it just seems a bit unfinished but looks pretty good so far.

The DE has a hammer, add that in and the slide won't look any more blocky than it really is. That's the only thing I can think of, it looks awesome otherwise.

Isn't a DE meant to look a bit shinier? Could be a different skind than you usually see (can't see any reason for a DE having darker skins, though, since it's mostly a pimp weapon, not really useful in combat with it's 7? bullet clip).

It also needs to have a safety switch on the slide.

DP, I remember back when you first showcased your works in modeling guns back on the showcase forums a while ago. You have improved so much that you are now up to par, and even surpass, many modelers today. I am very impressed by your progress, and that is just seriously awesome :)

I really need to start modeling safetys into some of my guns

Put a specifically made texture just for the back of the slider there. Its a nice gun except the grip is a little flat looking. really doesn't matter though since the hand is always going to be there. I'd cut the space in the slider where the hammer goes.

I see mesh errors in your first pic.

Accually that isn't a mesh error, but just a soft secondary light source, you'll see a faint shadow cast by the one on the left side.

OMG, I haven't seen that one in a looooong time. Tho note that is an external model, and was accually more for showcasing the hands.... :p But yea, 3dsm aslo helped quite alot w/ my modeling lol.

It's alright, but the model seems too...blocky, and the texturing's off. It doesn't quite look like metal, something about the fuzziness of the texture, if that makes any sense, which it probably doesn't.

The whole skin is bland. Increasing contrast would certainly help, as well as adding some depth to the side of the DE.
