I mentioned being out of shape 2 drawings back. I think we can safely suggest I'm back in shape again.

On the other hand I had planned a background, but it didn't really want to work out. Maybe later.

Impressive. Two complaints, though:
- the feet are too small
- the spikes on his forearm don't really fit the current style of the armor

Thanks!

I had some trouble with the feet because they were a) at a funny angle and b) at a strangely picked perspective. I tried a lot to make 'm look as good as I could but I feared that if I used the erasor any more than I already had the paper would suffer too much of it.

As for the spikes. Though they can be used in melee combat (which shouldn't happen all that much) they are mainly ornamental and a remainder from ancient designs of the Etekian soldier's armour. They are more of a cultural attachment than anything else. It probably makes more sense with the accompanying book I'm writing.

My complaint about the spikes was mainly because the rest of the armor is very high tech. I mean, I'm not against a mix of high-tech and tribal style, but those three spikes look so alone there...maybe add some more tribal details, like a crest of feathers on the helmet, a mantle of fur or some skull trophies on the belt.
But yeah, it might make more sense if put into context.

Looks extremely impressive. Maybe, as previously suggested, add more spikes and change the feet a bit - and then, ink it and add digital colors. I think it'll look great.

German helmets in WWI.

All I have to say.

You have a great talent. The thing I like about all of your pictures, although I don't think you make it intentional, is there is always one thing that looks off...but it just makes them all so unique. I mean, if the picture was perfect you wouldn't need to improve now would you? This one is great. I like the spikes, it kind of matches with the sharp face part of the helment.
Think while it's still legal.

Ever thought of using a graphics tablet? I can't draw very well at all on paper but I can put out some good stuff with a tablet. You could probably increase your productivity tenfold with one.

I have one, and I sometimes use it to colour my drawings. With a pencil I know exactly how it behaves when I apply pressure, tilt more, make longer strokes. But with my wacom I still lack that control over it, to be able create something from scratch.

I'd probably have to delve into digital painting tutorials, but I rarely have the patience for them. And generally I don't really like the idea of tutorials for learning how to make art. The reason I have a pretty unique style in pencil drawing is because I never had lessons, nor used tutorials and learned almost everything from experience - from scratch.

I'll get the hang of digital painting, probably, but I'd think it will take a couple years before the quality of it matches my pencil drawings.

Thanks for all the comments so far!

The main thing about the right foot that looks off is that the sole is facing outward, but when someone sits like that, usually their sole faces inwards. I wouldn't have noticed if someone else didn't point it out, though.

Otherwise, it's amazing.
Moo.
