Well, the poll died, but the P90 got the most votes. This weapon was not easy to model.

Texturing it hopefully will be more fun

I'm so glad you didn't waste your time on a Colt rifle.
The model is fantastic. 1700 polies sounds a bit high, but it's a complicated design, so it's probably not possible to lower it without loss of detail.

That puts my 1228 triangle model to shame. :p Since you're using so many polies, why not cut little insets and have the rear iron sights. Also, at the very front of the gun handle, its sloped inward abit, but you won't really see that ingame....

That is absolutelly fantastic. Holy god, people don't know how difficult that gun is to model, and you did it in JED.

It's considered one of the most comfortably held gun on the market. Your thumb goes in the further back hole, and your grip the meat between the holes, the trigger being the foreward hole, which is also big enough for your other thumb, which holds on to the very front part of the meat, for stablization.

Dual P90's are FUN. Good model, amazing work for JED. You could probably lose the ridges on top of the magazine and put that in with a texture. Also, the barrel behind the flash suppressor seems a bit long.

(I've used dual P90's in airsoft. Amazingly fun)

It's surprisingly hard to aim two guns at once like that, unless you hold them at full arm length, like pistols. With the weight of the P90, that is difficult to do still.

I ended up standing on the top of a hill, using one at a time, or both at the shoulder then basically flattening a crap load of bracken/ferns and getting a few hits in too.

It's a good model, and a good addition to the SMG ranks, but I dont like the G3A3 b/c it looks like the AK47! I say keep the P90 and add/replace the G3A3 with the M4 with grenade launcher imho. Either way, good work!

holding two guns is kinda hard to do in JK, it will probably be a long time before I try it.

The magazine texture will have to wait, the horror starts tommorow. myfreetime/2 (at least).
On a real P90, you can actually see the magazine empty as it fires. I'm probably going to have to make many "frames" of the magazine.

Aaron's texture is more detailed, but not very realistic looking. This one is far more well rounded and fits itself better. I think from a distance and up close, this one will say "P90" in our head, better than aaron's will.

The model is truer to the basic P90 RD, but the skin lacks fine detail. Also, the upper edge of the butt seems to be sticking out a bit too far. May be due to just the angle, though. The top and bottom on the curve should be level, and sticking out as far as the bottom edge appears to be.

I don't think kirby is right, I still think Ruthvens model, through detail and textures, is better, but thats probably because he has spent far more time making sure its perfect.

Anyway, you cannot mistake a P90 for anything else, unless its had this butchering done to it.

Drilled was an expression, meaning, I don't know. I know the P90 is absolutelly versatile and can fit even pistol expansions. Still, that crap is DRILLED on. [Not literally]

That "40 bullet banana clip" is a Hi-capacity M16 (IIRC) magazine, capable of holding 300 rounds.

However.

That magazine is simply used to feed the 1500 rounds in the box mag, above it, into the P90.

As to the rest, the gun is quite small - yet its versatility makes it appealing. Adding the extra length to it allows larger people to use it more easily, and that silencer may simply be covering an extended internal barrel. The "cage" (Nitro VO Rail system, or something) around the front is useful to help protect against bending the internal barrel.

Snapping guns around trees is NOT fun.

but all of that can be found in much better guns. The P90 serves a great purpose as it is, and adding all that junk sort of ruins its purpose, and makes a big waste of money when a larger rifle would have been a cheaper, more proficient weapon.

Stop comaring it to other models, and especially don't compare it to that mangled piece of metal/plastic/stuff (that modded thing). :p

the magazine is done and has it's "frames" but I need to make the ingame stuff.

Excellent job Prodigy! Can't wait to see it in action.

As for the modded p90 above... well that removes it's ability to be ambidexterous(the clip looks it would impede somebody firing it from their left hand.) and looks even more impossible to fire one-handed(that gun's light enough without all those parts).

Agreed. I hate the damn mods. However, a boxmag'd P90 with an extended internal barrel may cost £350, and it will outperform most support weapons (eg, FN Minimi) that cost a LOT more.

It does stop anyone from using it left handed, and all that stuff almost doubles its weight. Without any extras, it is possible to fire one handed, but holding it with an outstretched arm for any length of time is a tough order.

The barrel length/compactness is unmatched in the airsoft world. For out of shape people playing soldier, that is tantamount.
