The tone arm and counterweight shouldn't all that difficult. It's mostly cylinder primitives stacked up on top of each other and hollowed out .... kinda. heh.

The whole point of that pattern is to provide friction for your finger, and it looks really really cool when it's spinning in that running like and LED in the dark
(like really cool, try animating your platter in a dark environment with those lights on once you get the pattern going :))
BTW my copy of illustrator is messed up, and I'm not going vector in photoshop so it'll be another day or so before I can reinstall and make some slipmats.
