Mini game model WIP

Another forum I'm active in called maxforums.org (3ds max website) a few people have got together and made their own "home brewed" game. As far as I know it's a FPS but there is a mini game to it that is a racing game.

Everyone on the forum is invited to make a model that will appear in the game.

The models have to be under 4,000 triangles. My model is about 98% done.. then I have to texture it.

Anyway, here is what I have so far. 3,024 triangles.

I haven't even started making the textures yet but I'll keep ya updated.

Wow, I like it. I don't really know about accuracy simply for the fact that I don't know much of cars. Your model, however, looks incredible! :D

It looks a little taller and narrower than an actual F1 or Indycar, but that adds to the effect I think. Me likey.
nope.

It's rather acurate.. atleast in my eyes.. I mean I've been watching these cars race for like, some 16 odd years or soo...

I couldn't really find any good reference shots (or blueprints) so I just used the 1:18 scale model that is next to me. The model is finished now I just gotta unwrap it and texture it.. which I'm not looking forward to.

I think it's the perspective, everyting seems to be in place when you keep that in mind.

It looks right to me. I've seen some of these races in person, and that's what they look like. Good work.

It is a Champ car.. and yeah the front wing is like sorta custom.. I may change it :P not really worried that much about it..

Anyway I've started unwraping it.

Already started wrapping it.. I may go with a different paint scheme though.. not sure.

I'd suggest using a different font for the MaxForums bit.

I'd say the blue is a bit strong. Tone it down a shade.
nope.

GothicX, yeah I agree.. I changed the font but I dunno if I like it.. I'll post a pic after this render is finished.

Boco, actually I did the paint off of a real Indycar.. the real paint job the blue is actually darker. I just rememebered one of my lights was slightly colored yellow (also why the white isn't standing out as much, and makes the blue a tad darker).

New screenshot coming up.. got the tires textured, I just have to do the mirrors, the driver and add a few more decals here and there and I think it'll be finished. Then I might do another paint job if I have time.. deadline is like less than a week away. Atleast its unwrapped so a new texture should only take a day.

The Spoiler lettering looks better now. Personally, I'm not keen on the blank spots on the top, but then again I've never watched an Indycar race. I watch F1.
nope.

It's obiviously not finished... :P

And it's ok Boco... I watch F1 too.
