they're almost exactly the same design, except DF's handle is bend forward while JK's is slanted backwards...

Actually I mean the design. And they are in no way the same. DF's is curvier while JK's is all boxy.

the model itself is boxy, but the design is the same. look at the textures; http://www.hillside.co.uk/glyn/jediknight/weapons/weapon9.gif

granted, it takes a tad bit of imagination due to JK's low quality textures (and model), but if you look closely you can tell that they're very similar in design

Well.. it's sort of self explanitory.. I mean JK is 3d and DF is 2nd (talking about the weapons here)... and JK is a low low poly game because of it's age and technology.. 2nd graphics doesn't really matter cause there are no polies to worry about.

The front of the gun is noticably different. At least, it looks more different. In-game in DF you don't see the rectangular back of the gun at all.
