Coffee Cup

Lately, I've been trying to model simple items, with progressive complexity. This time, I've made a coffee cup. This is based on a real high-fire stoneware cup that I made in a ceramics class that I'm taking at uni. (I'm drinking coffee out of it right now, in fact. Cold coffee SUCKS. :p) All is well except I'm having trouble getting the handle (which I made seperately) to mesh smoothly with the cup. I have a few overlapping polys, and I have no idea how to fix this)

Here's the stats:

build time: About an hour
Program used: Wings 3d
Polys: (get ready for this) 9937. I think I used the smooth tool a little too much. I think it doubles the number of polys with each application, if i'm not mistaken-- but my god it sure makes things smooth.

This cup is GPL and is free to anyone who wants it, PM me w/ your email if interested and i'll send you the final tweaked bug-free version.

BTW, I'm still working on the sword. I'll post more pictures of it later.

Woah, lets say you get that in any game. How much would the fps drop from say a normally modeled coffee cup? Looks really good regardless.

I've figured out that the smooth tool quadruples the number of polys with each application.

..And I smoothed it about 2 times....

Dare I ask what you thought it did? :p
