Very nice. However, her face is so much sharper that she actually looks quite older than in the original pic. Also, something seems to be off with the feet. But all in all, I dig.

Wow..... it's kind of sad that I remember the old picture...

But yeah, I really like the shading on the new one, especially in her left arm (right to the viewer)

It's not that her face is sharper...it's the eyes...the new eyes are much more motherly looking and therefore older looking while the old ones are almost in a scowl, much more youthful.

The new one makes her look more... manly. I realize why, after looking at it a second time. The shoulders are too wide. The muscles are rather large, even for an athletic woman. The head shape is more masculine, the head should probably be thinner, smoother in the edges. The head seems small in proportion to the rest of the body. There's some small stuff that looks off with the fingers on the left side, and in the hand on the right. Anatomy errors around the torso to hip... You've got this whole, deformed twisted torso look going. I think that's mainly due to the shading in that area. The shading of the face, and what's a redo of the small marks on the right, make her look like she's wearing unusual clown makeup. While this one looks better defined, and some nicer shading/effect, where as the first looks somewhat cautious in the approach, I personally preferred the general style and look of the first (although it also had it's anatomy problems). (I'm not trying to be insulting, just offering tips on how to improve it)

Yeah this also adds to the old look. Truth be told, the second looks like a drag queen with make up on. I also really thought it looked like she had clown make up on...the lips, the intense contrast between dark and white, and that thing by her eye cause that.

Overall though the second is much better in terms of artistic skill with the shading, the general look of the whole piece...I just don't think it fits what you might have been going for?

I used a model for her, and I'm very sure the model's shoulders where just as wide. The muscles are perhaps very defined, but it was intentional because she's a Goddess. I agree that I didn't get the head right everywhere. Her lips are that black though because she uses black lipstick. Her eyes are again so dark because of her divinity (Patroness of Darkness as you may read in the older picture). There is also quite some detail loss in her face I fear (after scanning, noise removal, sharpening, contrasting, resizing). There's more variation in shading along her jaw bone and the black line from her eyes actually is black squares just like in the original. Not to mention you can hardly see the difference between pupil, iris, whiskers and outline anymore. I even put quite some little details into her diadeem which vanished completely :\
(The patterns on her staff also turned out quite indistinguishable)

The fingers were so small I just couldn't get it completely right :(
Maybe I'll try to get them better a bit, they look worse now than they did late last night :]

Her hip is twisted and therefore, yes, her torso twists too, there's nothing unnatural about that.

I think the older pic might look more regal. But it's also much more static and boring. Not just because of the inferior shading but also because of her uninteresting pose. There were way more anatomical errors in that one and she kinda looked flat. I agree there's something about the old face which are better than the new one: The shape of her eyes and perhaps her lip. And maybe a jaw-line should have been somewhere in between those of old and new.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

I worked a bit more on the face, hands and feet. In my humble opinion the face is perfect now. But who am I to judge my own work? (In any case I don't think I'll be changing anything about it anymore :P )

The very first pic looks like Natalie Portman (hot!)

The last pic, while it's a better picture, the face looks like an old lady that's fugly :(

(not to say the picture is bad, she's just not as pretty)

There seems to be a big difference between her upper half and her lower half. Her upper body (as has been mentioned before) is really muscular built like a man, but the lower half seems very petite and womanly. I think the manliness comes from a combination of things. I know it's possible for a woman to be muscular, but the bicep on her right arm makes it look really manly. The shoulders are kind of a problem I guess (maybe sloping a bit more downward), but I think it's really the collar area that's causing that area to seem off. I think there should be a bit less flesh in that area. Maybe so you can see more collarbone jutting out. (And maybe, maybe a hint of cleavage. a hint, not actual cleavage. :o )

The dress should've been like the first one - slight bob, the straight down. Now she looks like she carries her.. 'throne' with her.

It's just her right shoulder (left for the viewer). The other one is ok.
