3. MSPaint has a few... issues. IE: Streaks of a random colour flying across the current work of art. Uugh.

Anywho, I was going for a cell-shady look, and of course, it has my 'signature' (Not as popular around here except for necromice) dark blue background and everything. I feel special.

Uploaded pic is referance pic, the .zip is the BMP of my work. It's BMP because I've had... bad experiances making this thing with JPEG compression, and battling against it after saving it as a JPEG by accident is one of the things that aggrivated me the most.

No need to go easy on me, by the way. I'm used to pain. Hooray! I realise it's terrible but hey, it's MSPaint and I'm not the greatest artist.

Why would you try to convert a comic picture into JPEG format? JPEG is for thousands of colors, and it delivers horrible results for pictures with large solid color areas, especially at the transitions of these areas. You should convert it to GIF, or better yet, PNG format.

I guess it wasn't mentioned, but I accidently saved the backup as a JPEG at one point, and nearly right after a huge streak spread across the picture. So I had to open the compressed version so I could at least have SOME of the solid colours left. I think I did a pretty good job. It's all freehand, and I had to do a lot of revisions.

I use:

JPG for photos
GIF for animations
PNG for everything else. It's compression rocks, especially on images with large areas of solid color.

Oh, BTW, you are right, you should either get a wacom tablet or learn how to do vector drawings, cause this MSPaint pic is...well, "interesting", if you know what I mean...

Interesting as in the lines are like... waves? The person has a wavy face?
