have to design a creature for a student film that is shooting in 7 days... so this is what I came up with... Kinda went the way of the IMP with the eyes and all (not 12, just 4)

BTW, pay no attention to my life cast in the back with the red cups on its head... :rolleyes:

I am having trouble deciding which one of the following I should use... I think I want the ears pointing down.. let me know what you guys think...

Oooh, neat. But does it have to have ears? I think it looks better without them =/

yeah, it has to have ears.. the director was very spicific about that.. I think he wanted the pointing up ears, to be honest.. which is why I am even concidering it.. (I like it with NO ears also, but there are shots of the shadow only, and I think he wants some sort of memorable shadow.. so u know from the shadow it's not human... )BTW, the down ears will probably come forward some, like horns...

maybe make the ears go down, but then point back up?

and why does it have 4 eyes? the smaller 2 appear useless

heh.. actually I did like the director said.. he came over today and told me to put ears like that on it ;)

I took the teeth out because I coul dnot cast the sculpture with them in... the teeth woul dhave pulled out when we opened the mold, and woul dhave been stuck inside the mold cause they are so deep... have you ever tried getting clay out of a VERY small but deep hole?

The teeth were cast seperately in algenate, and will be fiberglass when they are done.. then we will simply glue them into the mask.. :)

Now that I am not HORRIBLY tired, I can answer this question, instead of just blowing it off (not like that! get your heads out of the gutter)...

The creature was described to me as "A creature that has been around for centuries... it is very well adapted" and such and such by the director...

Well, ALL predators have their eyes facing FORWARD, instead of on the sides of their heads... this helps with depth perception.

Where as the animals with eyes on the side of their head have a wider range of vision, but crappy depth perception...

SO.. Skepna (the creature) has 4 eyes.. 2 facing forward, and 2 on the side... so it has the "best of both worlds"
