Not bad. I wonder if the two seconds one can see your mask was worth the effort. Tough it is used quite well, I think.

That was really cool, although it was almost comical at parts.
I almost expected to see glen and that thing doing the slow motion spin, holding hands.
But the end was done very well I think.
the mask looked great.

Would I be labeled as a little girl if I thought that that was a sad little film? :(

That was dope.
I liked the music

It wasn't as dark and brooding as I think maybe it was intending to be (partly due to editing), but ending was nicely done

Okay, I have one major gripe with the movie and that's that I really have no idea what I'm supposed to take away from it. What message is it trying to convey? I didn't get a sense of any of the characters' motivations or goals. It just seemed like a bunch of creepy stuff that happened. :S

Maybe someone else can explain it to me?
2005-12-05, 9:19 PM #18
i just saw it, haha johnny rox!!!

the vid came out cool chris. and dan did a good job as skepna, no wonder he kept saying he was busy with that stuff. the composer of the music for the movie, give that person PROPS. I think it added a lot to the film. Just cuz the whole "angel" reference when u see the skepna, seems almost like it's the angel of death. it just makes it creepier, so it worked good. Tell Alex good job.

<-- officially creeped out.

(but I assume that was the objective so good job.)

That was really cool. I especially like the hand beckoning the dude to open the window... and the game was creepy.

I think that speaks highly of Johnny. I think he did a good job portraying the character...u kinda felt for the character in a way. The guy rox. No worries for him, if that's what u are thinking, that guy is so bad@$$ he's like a big bro. He def. made the movie cool...and yes dan was good being skepna he did an awesome job with the gestures etc, it came off so creepy. I didnt even know it was dan till the credits..crazy

Okay first off: I know you didnt direct it. I love the mask. Its rediculously cool. These are just my thoughts on the final cut of the movie:

I still think it could have been done better. Dont get me wrong, i did enjoy it, but it had a few problems. Some of the editing i didnt like (that pan shot up to the window looked weird)

The other problem is, the story isnt really easy to understand. I was taught that if you dont understand the movie with the sound off, then you dont really have a good movie. An increase in acting ability (not your friends) would really help the movie. I know it sounds like a mean thing to say, but it was the same thing when we did movies in my class. And if these people feel they are serious actors, the director needs to give them better direction i guess.

But anyway, visual storytelling is important, that will really help things move along.

yeah, there really wasn't much of a story to tell at all.. the whole movie is.. boy meets creature... creature stalks boy.. boy thinks creature is his friend.. creature plays along... creature eats kid.. the end...

Nothing really insightful or anything. As far as the acting (pretty much Emily) she was just in it cause she was the writer's GF, and she was avail that day.. I don't think she wants to be an actor.

umm.. what else... As far as the editing, give them a break,, it's actually their FRIST project :)

I think it'll be a damn site better then what their classmates will probably turn in.. and more creative... I heard that they are throwing around ideas of videotaping their puppies playing with a soccar ball and putting music to it.

Oh well.. ROCK ON SKEPNA!!!

oh, and brian... what did you mean by

I'd just like to say I was about 1 minute into watching this thing when my black cat ripped my compy's power cord outta the wall, causing me to loose a lot of my recent work! My cat has never done anything like this before.... so either this movie is CURSED, or my cat REALLY HATED this flick.

Either way....DAMN YOOOOU SPIRAAAAAAAaaaaalllll!!!!i!!i!!!!

Hah, dont get me wrong, im not trying to be mean. Constructive criticism is the only way for me to help them improve. Im not saying negative things, im only pointing stuff out to help them fix things.

That was really good. Even for a short film..

Way to be a monster spiral! :D

I've made a few indy films my self, but nothing to brag about at all. (They're on my site.)

The mood was very creepy, and the music did help alot.

Edit:
Actually I looked upon your website, and I love your halloween works.
