for those who care about such things:
- nearly 2 months, 150-200 hours
- modeled and uvmapped in wings3d, textured in photoshop (using photos), lit and rendered in maya 6.5

fantastic CGI, you should render my alien model
Code:
if(getThingFlags(source) & 0x8){
  do her}
elseif(getThingFlags(source) & 0x4){
  do other babe}
else{
  do a dude}

Not bad. Shadows & window are pretty sketchy, but I like the colors. :)

It's a shame those shoes aren't way up close, because they must have taken forever to model. Impressive though.

thrawn: i agree, i had a fancier window but maya didn't want anything to do with it so i had to throw that piece of crap in at the last minute. the shadows (and the whole back wall, really) could be higher quality but i had to prioritize for the deadline. i'd like to go back and rework some things over winter break..

z@n: with a full courseload, including two other art classes and other projects for this class, yeah, it took almost 7 weeks I think. not really sure of the exact starting date. the fact that i was extremely anal about the modeling didn't help, either, although the models did turn out damn close to their real-life counterparts. this was my first time doing a lot of stuff, though, like uvmapping (and modeling realistic things, for that matter), so if i had to do it again it would go a lot faster.

If that's your 800m time, I'm going to bludgeon you. Try as hard as I may, I couldn't break 2:00. Current P.R. is 2:02.96. I had that watch too.

Very nice CG scene.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.
