Stop taking pictures from behind glass. it makes it look ugly :P

I do like hte edited one, even though you can see the cameras reflection still

Me likes the third one, too...the other two are pretty...uninteresting.

I lied, I kinda like the first one being focused on the glass. Or whatever that is

The second one may have looked interesting through your eyes when you were there, but you have to see through the lens and expect what it will look like as a finished product. Color-tinting and sharpening will only take you so far. In fact, I like the unedited version of #3 more than the edited.

I'm with Gris.
I like the unedited version of the third one, it seems more interesting. You upped the white on the clouds too much, and it dominates the picture. Something dominating the picture isn't bad, but in this case... it's all white clouds. And you can't really even see the difference in the clouds, it's just a giant swathe of white.

The first one would have been better if the glass had been clean.. :p I like the clouds, combined with their out-of-focusness (technical term right there, hell yeah.) it could have turned out well. You might want to try to

Second one is missing something. Again, like Gris said: It looks like it could have made an interesting picture through your eyes, but it didn't translate so well.

Third one is good though, I like that one a lot.

But MB is right too. I don't know if you can drive, or if someone else was driving you, but go find a nice spot with a good amount of diversity, and just walk around with your camera in your hands. The glass, even if it's almost unseeable like in the third one, makes the picture.. hrm. Hard to describe. Not boring, but less contrasty, and less alive.

But you've got some skill there. What kind of camera is it? Digital, I'm assuming. SLR?

I beg to differ, I think the scratches could add a certain degree of texture if he would have set it up right, but then again this seems almost like a spur of the moment picture where that might not be possible.

It only seems like that cool-looking, blurred effect on the clouds resulted from auto-focus zeroing in on the huge flash reflection in the middle. If you want to duplicate that sans the glass, try toying with manual focus (yes, your digicam should have it).

What really detracts, though, is that little red dot on the top of yer cam, which probably is meant to reduce redeye (I think?), which we can see reflected above the flash. If I were you and were re-taking that shot (just as an example for future ideas), I'd put a finger over that little red dot area, turn my flash off, and try one with the window up and one with the window down (probably using manual focus). Also, if you're going for artsy shots, don't be afraid to try the same shot several times with several approaches! Especially if you're shooting nature. You'd be surprised how much difference you can get between different pics of the same stuffage.

Just some thoughts.

The reason all these were behind glass is because I was moving when we took them I was in a car hah. Except the middle one with the semi, that was just me bored. But I'm gonna try to get out one day and take some more pics. Maybe today I'm going to a show I'll post some of them later tonight when I get back.

well stated grisay. we say at the lab, "when you look through the viewfinder, instead of at it, you get something that is maybe meaningful to you, but theres no connection for the viewer."

to sum up, "think before you shoot."

and i said this to Kirby, like in photoshop, lens flare is only to be used occasionally.
