if your rendering in something like 3dsmax.. why don't you just model in it? That's what I learned. Still good work.

Now that is ironic.... 1st off, AK is a Soviet (another irony since they were bitter ideological enemies) weapon that draws upon the innovations of the StG-44, such as a shorter rifle cartrige to reduce recoil. 2nd, the AK47 was designed in 47 and wasn't put into production until 1949 (I think, but I know it wasn't in '47), which was after May, 1945, when WWII Europe ended, and this weapon was in production before that time. So, as my good mate zagibu stated, its the original assult rifle. *end gun history lecture* :p

Oh gonzo, I don't want to derail the thread. I meant that Kalashnikov flat out stole a variant of the Sturmgewehr and gave it looser tolerances. Everything about the AK from the sights to the mag release is just a stolen idea from the Stg. And the day I let any of you try to teach me about origins of any military equipment or ideological beliefs of any major player in the world is the same day that I succumb to Yoshi's pickup attempts.

Of course the Commies stole German tech - V2s could have been the first word in ICBMs in time, perhaps as a V3 or V4, but instead, Mother Russia took the torch and ran with it.
