An OLD star wars drawing
2006-01-29, 2:41 AM #1
I think I made this when I was reading "Dark Force Rising" by Timothy Zahn, and that was back in '99 so that would make this drawing 7 years old and making me 10 years old. Man it's been so long! :)

Notice the Headhunters and the Dreadnaught crashing into the planet.

Slight problem; the Battle For Honoghr took place during the Clone Wars. :p

I'm confused by the flying jellyfish exploding near the centre of the image. :p
Code:
if(getThingFlags(source) & 0x8){
  do her}

I agree with ruthy, last I checked there weren't any giant jelly fish in Dark Force Rising.
Still a nifty image.
Still here.

You really did so great at drawing for a 10 year old, but it's odd that there's no perspective to the picture, which makes it even more odd that z95s are as big as star destroyers :p

I say you should recreate your old creation, and see how much better you can make it now, 7 years later.

When I was ten I could only dream of being that good at drawing.

'Cept... No one knew what kind of starships were in use during that period until AotC, which came out in '02... And that was only the start of the war. We didn't see the end until '05, and this was drawn in '99. :p

Besides, Victory-class Star Destroyers, Dreadnaughts, and Z-95's are all stated to have been in use during the Clone Wars, and that's what I see in the drawing. No error there.
Moo.

Hey I was a ten year old obsessed with star wars, I just threw in whatever I thought was cool. ;)

But yeah, I do recall Dreadnaughts in Dark Force Rising. And they're supposed to be pretty old ships. However, I'm not sure I can explain the Y-Wing, TIE-Fighters, or the Rebel Transport in this image. :o

I think the ugly looking ship directly above the Rebel Transport is supposed to be the Wild Karrde. Again, I can't explain that.

And about the perspective, well...yeah it really does suck.

it's awesome. I love it! Some pictures drawn by children are just fantastic :)

It's looking great, especially the firey explosions and the water.

I have not read the books in sometime but wasnt there some jelly fish type transport thing that Lando used to transport ships to where he was doing his mining? It was like a big sheild ship thing? I may be WAY off.
The tips at the end of shoelaces are called "aglets". Their true purpose is sinister.

The way you use color makes me think you just drew this yesterday...

You're either thinking of the ship in the Black Fleet Crisis Trilogy (I've never read it) or the Umbrella Ships, which are exactly what they sound like.

-I assumed the jellyfish was a ship in re-entry. "Re-entry" is, of course, a relative term, considering most of them most likely never came from the planet.

Ah, the jelly fish thingy. I think it was supposed to be one of those tabanna gas mining platforms from Bespin. I think they had'em in ESB, am I correct? I'm not sure what it's doing on Honoghr! :o

Oh and I can explain the quality of the color; I had it stored away in a chest all this time, but I found it just the other day.

You were ten in '99.... I feelz teh old. I don't have the courage to show my crappy kid drawings. I might if they were that cool, though.
