Here is the first little preview of my CTF level for the JKHub CTF pack. Its going to be made almost entirely out of 3dos, and theres a but more 3dos to put in to add detail, and yes, textures. Lighting, not so much, but I think we could manage. I also tried to avoid the Dark Tempest kinda feel too, hopefully thats not what came to the minds of most people lol. However, once again, I'm using the concept of religion, this one wrestling with the idea of Heaven and Hell.

Climb the Stairway to Heaven and become an angel, or fall a victim of power and meet the Devil. However, what if St Peter will not admit you and your salvation is found in your eternal dammation.....

If your walk the path of the holy man, then you will be able to look down upon those souls, and all must pass through St. Peter's gate.

If you have fallen, then those who's bitterness prevents them from leaving purgatory will not harm you, and power is at your fingertips.

This map is also designed to strongly encouraged in that one person provides covering fire/distracts so their teammates can advance. This becomes a large factor closer to the flags, where there are limited routes to actually take the flag. Good jumping skills are also required, since you don't want to slip and fall into limbo for forever.........

I think that could be a bit confusing in the heat of battle. And please tell me you'll get higher quality textures for what I've seen that's textured. PLEASE!

It's default mat and one grey texture, I'm pretty sure it's safe to assume those are temporary.

The thing I can't stand about these maps is:

Let's say you're running across one of those paths and you get hit by a conc blast! Away you go.

Whose to say I'm gunna include a conc rifle, they might be.... shall we say, strangely absent.... :em321:

Holy frock that's kinda cool.

If this is capture the flag level.. you should keep it symmetrical. Even if you can design an interesting non-symmetrical map, players will always believe that the maps are imbalanced and will favor a side.

and about z@nardi's comment. Unreal Tournament has quite a lot of assymetrical CTF maps and I never seen anyone complain at those.

Level looks interesting, I'd love to see it textured.

In UT, you also can play in rounds where you switch bases every round.

More 3dos will be added around the level, but now I come with a question, should I have unlimited power and energy cell ammo and give Heaven ST rifles with grenades and Hell repeaters with sequencers and/or bowcators/crossbows, or should I spread weapons and/or powerups around?

I think powerups add an interesting dynamic to a level that can't be ignored. You could totally change the gameplay of many levels by switching the item placement around.

Looks like you'll be able to TMJ and cap in about 5 seconds if you include mines in the map. Sometimes what's neat doesn't necessarily have much gameplay value. However, I'll remain optimistic that you understand the depths of NF CTF and know what you're doing. Either way, it looks to be an...interesting map.

You may as well get rid of the raildet too, b/c it's pretty much the same thing.

Accually the rail det would be fun here. slow moving projectile=necessary lead=more skill needed with rail det than conc. I think it would be fun with the rail det.
