You better get him to a doctor, his right leg is broken.
Wikissassi sucks.

And he seems to be floating.
DO NOT WANT.

I don't think he's drawing that arrow correctly...

I think you're all being to critical, because that's flipping awesome.

He's drawing fine... he's just got it on the wrong side of the bow.
Wikissassi sucks.

Your shading is beautiful, but his hands are tiny.

Awesome picture! But a few things I have to nitpick:

What kind of hands are those? Tiny carnie hands, that's what. He's also not drawing the arrow correctly.

His legs are a bit too long, and in an awkward position, which makes them look odd and uncomfortable for the archer.

I think that kicks major ***, seriously. Yes I'll admit his hands are a bit on the small side, but it doesn't bother me that much. I love the wooden shield, the chainmail, and the shading you did on his metal shin-guard/boot things. Great job.

It doesn't matter at what side of the bow you employ the arrow, as long as you steady it either with your thumb or index finger. Unless of course you got some fancy bow where the arrow goes through the wood. In my picture's case it would be foolish to put it on the other side of the bow because then it might hit the buckler.

The leg conforms with that of the model I used as a reference. So I doubt it's broken. As for the too long comment, I don't know if you truely believe it or perhaps it's just a comedic remark to one of my posts in the "giving a crit"-sticky.
In any case, again it conforms with the model I used. (He does have his belt pretty high up his waste compared to 21st century fashion)

Ill change the shadow a bit and see if I can enlarge his hands a little bit.

Yes, it does matter what side of the bow you stick the arrow on; and no, it would not hit the buckler.

I'm no expert, but I believe that Isuwen is correct about the position of the arrow. The following are references. Also, regardless of the model you used, the leg looks off. If the model's leg looks like that, his leg is messed up. The handle on the sword is a different shade than the rest of the drawing and stands out a bit much. Otherwise, this is a great drawing.

I meant the fact that his ring and little finger are pulling the string back instead of just the arrow...

The legs are fine. My only complaint is the feet. They don't look like they're touching anything.

Of course, I can never get feet right ever.

Fine, I'll change it, but I really don't see why.

I'm sorry if my characters don't conform with the vision of perfect plastic people Hollywood has drawn out for you.

Roach, you're right. I see I forgot to fix that after I changed some bits in his hands. I'll fix it.

i dont know how familiar you are with the actualy usage of a bow like that, but when drawing you do NOT want to be touching the nocking piece on the arrow. doing so seriously decreases accuaracy and speed. the archer should be using two or three fingers, one finger above and one(or two) below the nocking-point.

i've experimented with this myself so i know it works better this way.
