The mac wouldn't run the game; (unless it's one of those new intel ones with linux installed and they are running Jedi Outcast in wine) therefore, the joke is on the mac. :)

I like your art, but the jokes are childish.

I'm sorry but Macs can run games as well as the PC does.

You can play:
-Age of Mythology
-RollerCoaster Tycoon 3
-Myst 4: Revelation
-Call of Duty
-And I'm sure there is a lot more!

And for the runtime error, I didn't know that... Maybe computer error would be better.

I'm happy you like them!

You can play quite a few games on the Mac.

You can play World Of Warcraft, what else do you need?

Because I'm using a Mac right now and IMOVIE JUST CRASHED

Which my PC has not yet done. :p

Also, your cartoon doesn't have any jokes. :(
2006-02-22, 7:06 PM #15
OUR PC! It's mine too you know! And your cartoon isn't about loving macs, it's about hating PCs. Or at least that's the impression I got. This, however is an awesome Mac loving comic.

LOL!

It depends on how you used the program...

And tell me what is a joke for you if you'd like?

Oh, he was using it like anyone would. I don't think he was actually pressing any buttons at the time.
EDIT: Ah. Okay. Still, the import button shouldn't cause the program to "Unexpectedly quit."

I um...clicked the import button to import from the camera? And then it said "iMovie has unexpectedly quit?" I'm not sure how a Mac working and a PC not working shows that PCs suck, but a PC working and a Mac not working shows that I don't know how to use the programs. :p Really, Apple's little better than Microsoft. Your brand loyalty is BAD FOR CAPITALISM, YOU COMMIE :O

Anyway, a joke would be if something besides the PC crashing and the Mac being good happened. You can't sustain a webcomic on this premise alone. :p Plus it's not fair to represent PCs that way, since it's just a webcomic. It would be like creating a fantasy political comic where all the people you disagree with are drooling morons. It doesn't have any bearing on reality. But really the important point is that you can't continue the comics like that. You're going to have to start thinking of actual jokes soon, just like Kirby can't sustain his comic with short jokes for more than, say, a month. ;)
2006-02-22, 7:33 PM #19
What program do you use?
EDIT: Why don't you join these forums. They should give you some good advice on your comic.

Everything is totally made in photoshop, with some images took from the internet (Windows and Apple logo).

Thanks for the forum link, I'll check that out!

Or seriously, the jokes need some working but the art is kinda cool, yet reminds me of 'The Order Of The Stick'.

That's not mac loving, it's just uninformed windows bashing.
Wikissassi sucks.
2006-02-23, 6:21 AM #24
I don't get the first one. How is it a joke?

The second one is good. I would want stability in my operating systems for a defensive array.

The third is odd. First, Macs can't play as many games as PCs, so I wouldn't try to challenge PCs on that point.

The whole thing about Windows crashing or exploding in your face gets old fast.
2006-02-23, 7:46 AM #25
Yeah I know, I will not continue like that but I will need ideas, so I'm going to think a lot more for the next one.

Maybe you should bring up the topic of friends? I think every cartoon character needs friends. Oh, and a name. Give them names and distinct features other than their shirts and the color of their skin. Give them real arms and legs. The current style isn't interesting enough. Even if the jokes are good, people will get bored with the style unconsciously. I liked the idea for the shield generators exploding, but I think you should have been a little more subtle than: "They certainly had PCs." Try something like: (from out of the panel): "Uh, my PC froze..." One of the things in making a comic (or at least I think so) is leaving something for the reader to imagine. That's why I think you should be more subtle in the punchlines.

EDIT: The "You shall not deceive me again" line, how was the officer deceiving him? Perhaps you meant fail?

EDIT EDIT: I think you should base your comics on what happens in real life and then add little things to make them funnier than before.
2006-02-23, 8:58 AM #27
Interesting, I will consider that.

But can you run

FEAR
Serious Sam 2
Counter Strike...or ANY Valve game
Battlefield 2

etc.

The jokes not only aren't all that funny IMO, but they're not true. The art is good though. It could just be better used on different jokes.

lol, the one just before!

And for the games... Consider that when you buy a Mac, it's not for the games, but for the stability and the good software. ;)

2nd one was pretty good.

The third one, eh, lets just say I've had that happen to me on my mac in JO

Ian may love PCs but you don't need to hate PCs to like Macs. I don't read AppleGeeks very often but I know who Hawk is.
